Does anyone else use reading as a coping skill? I love it, it's like escaping into an entirely different world with each book.

I've read close to 90 books this year so I'd say it's a safe bet.

Wow! That's awesome, I just recently started reading again. So far the past month and a half I've read almost 5 books. It really helps me a lot

I love reading when I can concentrate. I have read over 100 books this year but since my recent move have not had much time to myself. I too, love the escape a book gives me.

Yes, when I was in therapy I was reading 5+ books a week; it wasn't just coping, it was educational and helped keep me moving forward.

I read a lot as well. Since I do not work, I have to keep my mind busy.

I used to read a lot but now can't concentrate long enough to read a book. I wish I could.

Same here. I used to love gettimg lost in a book ( LOTR, JG Ballard, George Orwell all sorts) but now i can't seem to concentrate. I read the same page 3 times trying to take it in but then usually give up.

Definitely. As soon as I finish one book, I am picking up another. I very rarely read true-life stories or such, since I like the escape of fiction--especially science-fiction, where I can even escape from the Earth!
