I just got a call from my veterinarian. Jorgie my cat has pacreatitis. I took him in today and he is jaundice . He hasn't ate or drank anything for 4 days. He is staying overnight at the vets tonight and into the afternoon tomorrow. When I get him tomorrow. I will have to do force feedings on him. Jorgie likes to crawl up you . He doenst like medicine. So when I do the feedings, the vet told me I will have to wrap him up like a burrito with just his head peaking out and feed him with a syringe. It will be bland food , baby like food mixed with water. He probably will not like this! They also took whats comparable to a CBC for us humans too. And that wont be back till Wednesday.

I feel bad for him. Scared for him too. But I know he is in good hands. The vets live right above there where their office is . So I fee very assured that he will be looked in on . Please keep Jorgie in your thoughts if you dont mind? We sure would appreciate it! Thanks so much!Jorgie~

Oh I hope Jorgie is OK. I've had to give cats medicine... some cats take it well, some it is a struggle. I've done the "burrito" thing and it works well especially if it is your cat and he trusts you (I've had to give meds to other peoples cat's, taking care of them while they were on vacation... NOT fun! Cats have claws!!!!)

It sounds like a good vet and it is comforting to know the vet is right upstairs. Hopefully he will be home soon and taking his medicine and food from you with very little trouble. I am sure he will be happy to be home again, so maybe he'll forgive the bland food.

Jorgie isnt doing good. I will get to talk to the vet more this afternoon. But so far he will not drink or eat yet on his own. They are still having to force feed him.Looks like he may have to stay longer at the vet hospital too. Iwill know more later .

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concern. It means so much to me. This little guy won my heart over a little over a year ago, and I dont know what I will do without him. Even Heidi Sue is missing her little big brother. Jorgie weighed more than she did thats why I said that. Its like she is lost cause she doesnt have him to play with. They got along so well and were so funny together. And I miss his eskimo kisses. Jumping up on my desk while I am in chat with you guys and typing a hello to ya'll. The little fart both aggrivated me and made me laugh when he did that lol. He is such a Bubby lol.

Jorgie is gone now Jorgie~We just got done burying him a bit ago in a spot in my landscaping where he loved to go outside to lay down . Jorgie~ We wrapped him up in his blanky.

And little Heidi Sue is so confused. She saw me hold him all the way home in his blanky , and we came in the house and she got so excited. She thought I was going to set him down so he could get out of the blanky. And I just kept holding him till hubby got the hole dug for the box.

It was 16 months to the day today that he came to us. How ironic he would leave us too. Jorgie~ Jorgie~ Jorgie~ Bubby you will be missed so much. We love you!Jorgie~

Thank you everyone for your replies and support. You dont know how much this means to me. I will never forget you ! I mean that.

Gem~ Thanks so much for Rainbow Bridge~ it touched my heart so much. Thank you !

Hugz~

I am so sad Bethy.

I feel bad for Heidi Sue also, she may not be able to understand "literally" what had happened but she will sense your grief and your concern and will be able to share how she misses her "brother" with you so you will be able to console each other.

You will get through this together and we will be going through it together with you too.

Beth,

You know me & animals.....they are pretty much my whole life.....I know how you are feeling...my heart hurts thinking about how much Jorgie will be missed by you. I know my pets are my children & are cared for just the same with the same amount of love. It is always hard to loose something we love so much...but wonderful to have those memories of the eskimo kisses that keep them alive in your mind.

I just went through having one of our horses at the ranch put to sleep last week. She was 31 years old & had started having so many things wrong with her. I had helped care for her....giving meds with the suringe & eye drops &, &, & as if she was my own too. I just had to love her. I was there with her owner the whole time.....trying to realize that it was the best decision to keep her from suffering any more.....but that still doesn't make it easy. I love our equine vet who is the kindest person with situations like that. His support & caring for our horses is beyond explaination & held our hands through the whole thing.

I know how much your loss will effect you....it is not easy & I found that my depression ended up creeping back even though we knew it was the right thing to do. When we love, the loss hurts.....but just keep in mind that you gave Jorgie the best loving life he could have had & how much you meant to him.

My heart is with you in your grief for Jorgie. ~hugz~,
Debbie

Bethy, I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I hope Heidi Sue can add comfort during this time. She won't understand but she will comfort you in your grief. She knows that and will soon sense that her playmate is gone. So sorry.
