As it would turn out, I can afford the insurance for my operations however, I cannot afford the kind of coverage it would take to obtain therapy. According to the state, I make too much to receive coverage from them. The churches refuse to offer any help unless I change to their religion. I refuse to compromise my principles so some jack off can tell me that I need to look to jesus. So, it would appear this cowboy has stepped in the horse exhaust on this one...I have also looked to the "free groups" but the only type within a 50 mile radius is an actual therapy group, and I don't do well in groups...Well, just venting on this I guess...Sorry for wasting board space...

Not wasting board space at all....it's good to vent frustrations, and sometimes here is the best place. I'm sorry you're having a rough time......=(

you might try - the salvation army, St Vincent Du Paul and Catholic Charities. None of those require a person to change religions to recieve their services I am babtist and have used their services many many times.

You might also try domestic violence agencies, rape crisis agencies and planned parenthood. they all have therapists and peer counselors that help with all kinds of issues including PTSD, Depression, Abuse (no matter what kind) among other things.

Also calling to various mental health agencies and psychiatrists and psychologists you can also find community grants and so on set up specifically for those that cannot afford therapy and other mental health services.

Alot of groups don't nessesarily advertize for the general public and instead take clients of specific agencies and groups so Those same agencys can also put you in touch with any support and therapy groups running on sliding scale and or free in your area.

Your therapist may be able to give you this type of information at your last session and might even let you make the calls from his/her office.

Hang in there.

Like I said. No groups within a 50 mile radius. No one. And i am not in therapy as is, I think i should be, But it's not going to happen anyways. So, it's a dead subject. Thanks anyways...

Oh Michael.. don't give up.. there has to be a way.. somehow... I don't believe you were meant to suffer in silence... or that you were meant to carry the burdens you carry alone...

at the very least, do the best you can to open up here.. among those who understand... those who also suffer...we can help you... not as a substitute for therapy, but I still think it can help.

Thinking of you... Faith
