could be from letting my emotions guide my actions.

One the first test, I'm an INTJ. On the second, I'm an INTP. On the third I'm a definite IN but I wasn't sure between a T and F. I guess based on the other two, I'm like a T. So on the third I'm an INTJ.

So, I'm an INTJ with the "I" and "N" more definite and the "T" and "J" slightly more subjective to the criteria of the test (so I might be closer to 50/50 in the last two categories).

ISFP & ISFJ

But I found some of the questions to be difficult to answer. CONTEXT would effect answers:

IE Do you prefer to be alone or in crowds? Crowd with a group of friends acting like goof balls? YES Crowd of strangers? Not really, but not a huge problem for me. Crowd of coworkers where I would be required to "small talk" (work christmas party)? NO - I can not express how much I hate a "small talk" setting.

So how do you answer that???

I think they mean a small group or large group of strangers, so there would be no known variables in, you know?

I scored as INTJ on all of them, although on the last one I took a while figuring out whether to go with thinking or feeling. I'm happy I got to learn about myself more! Even if it doesn't change anything, it helps to understand why I very rarely "click" with some people and don't understand why others are the way they are. It helped a ton. Now I think I just have to keep meeting people until I find friends with certain personalities that can get along well with mine, lol.

Usually when I take the test, I get some form of ISTP with strong I and T and moderate S and P. Sometimes I get INTJ or ISTJ, but never have I gotten INTP.

I've taken the test from the first link before and I usually get INTJ.
Today I got
ISTJ
Introvert(67%) Sensing(1%) Thinking(88%) Judging(44%)
You have distinct preference of Introversion over Extraversion (67%)
You have marginal or no preference of Sensing over Intuition (1%)
You have strong preference of Thinking over Feeling (88%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (44%)

I've never taken the second one before. I'm not sure I like it. I feel so in-the-middle on certain things with no usual lean toward one or the other.
ISTJ
Introverted (I) 83.33% Extroverted (E) 16.67%
Sensing (S) 62.5% Intuitive (N) 37.5%
Thinking (T) 70.83% Feeling (F) 29.17%
Judging (J) 54.17% Perceiving (P) 45.83%
ISTJ - "Trustee". Decisiveness in practical affairs. Guardian of time- honored institutions. Dependable. 11.6% of total population.

I was definitely IST on the last one, and I was torn between J and P. I like schedules and given nothing to do I will do nothing. But I've also heard that procrastinators usually fall heavily under P, and I am notorious for procrastination. I will put off making decisions as long as I can while some facts are unclear or unknown, but once I make it it drives me nuts to stray from it.

Reading up on the personality types on the link in the OP is very interesting. ISTJ does seem to describe my generally "cold, robotic nature" and my tendency towards honesty and confessions, my general inability to express my feelings, insensitivity, etc etc. Actually it sounds more accurate to me than the ISTP type ever did, although there are issues that I take from each side. I've always been very unsure of my J/P typing.
Thanks for this!

Taken the MBTI a few times, I am an INFP, which I think matches my personality very well.

I'm ISTJ. I think reading into the deeper theory long-term can provide some interesting insight, but the written profiles tend to be biased and stereotyped.

I get INFJ every time I take the test. My girlfriend is a INTJ, and the two are supposed to go well together, which may be part of why we get along so well.

Beneath the quiet exterior, INFJs hold deep convictions about the
weightier matters of life. Those who are activists -- INFJs gravitate
toward such a role -- are there for the cause, not for personal glory
or political power.

INFJs are champions of the oppressed and downtrodden. They often are
found in the wake of an emergency, rescuing those who are in acute
distress. INFJs may fantasize about getting revenge on those who
victimize the defenseless. The concept of 'poetic justice' is
appealing to the INFJ.

"There's something rotten in Denmark." Accurately suspicious about
others' motives, INFJs are not easily led. These are the people that
you can rarely fool any of the time. Though affable and sympathetic to
most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a
symbiotic bond that transcends mere words.

INFJs have a knack for fluency in language and facility in
communication. In addition, nonverbal sensitivity enables the INFJ to
know and be known by others intimately.

Writing, counseling, public service and even politics are areas where
INFJs frequently find their niche.

I have taken it several times over the years for different reasons that have required it, various counselors, headhunters, or workplaces. My categories have changed each time I have taken it but my diagnoses have a lot to do with that. However, what I have learned from it are my strengths and weaknesses and how to better communicate not only from my own standpoint but to recognize those same/different categories in others to know where they are coming from. For these reasons, the test and knowing about, it is invaluable.

I tested INTJ for years, then got INTP. I then learned that many INTP test as INTJ. INTP is a better descriptor for me.

You have to remember this are just your preferences on how you with the world.

My GF is an INFJ, and her type with my type INTP, is called the golden couple. So check the INTP forums if you want someone to understand you.

My GF and I have a lot of similarities but the differences we do have, has allowed us to grow not only closer but to grow ourselves and learn from each other.

You shouldn't focus solely on MBTI, you should do a variety of other tests, like as my GF said "i'm more than a personality test", which I already knew, She's just in the initial stages of rebellion, where as i'm a master.

Enneagram is another interesting one, and it shows stages of healthy and unhealthy development of functions etc. So worth checking out.

Jung who was the one who "invented" the MBTI originally has some other cool stuff he has done, so I recommend anyone check him out.

Same here. I've tested as a few different types, actually (always IN-something-or-other) but decided INTP is the best fit after learning more about it, as well as hanging out on a personality forum and interacting with different types.

I'd recommend to others to read several types description as well as some for "neighbour" types, especially if your scores in an area were close.

I too am an INTP. I took the test several times in high school and had the same result. It's very hard to find someone that thinks in the same manner as me. To my knowledge INTP's make up about 1% of the population.

I took this quiz maybe 3 times in my life. The first was INFJ, the second was INTP, and the third was INFP. I would agree to being balanced between INTP and INFP with more priority to INTP.

*back 9 months later*
So I was INTJ, then INTP, after 3yrs+ with INFJ girlfriend my T80%~ to 1%, had an identity crisis, long story short, I do not recommend going head first into INFPs area if you're not familar with strong emotions. I had dropped the rest of my armour/walls, and, I can't begin to describe it. (I had been disconnected since childhood, so say 24 years) (INFP are cool)

So ENFP I had gotten on Jung's Cognitive Functions, and I settled on that. However I figured out, I may have originally been ENTJ and sunk into a depression and didn't realise, came out of that the other day when I figured it out and saw.

I recommend everyone try Jung's cognitive function over MBTI now, it just has too many problems I think personally.

(yes I know it's 9 months since last post :P)

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (89%)
You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (38%)
You have distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (62%)
You have marginal or no preference of Judging over Perceiving (1%)

As you can see I'm technically an ISTJ, but I'm right on the edge of Judging/Perceiving. It describes me exceptionally well.

I'm very interested in the types and I've noticed that many people don't really understand what they mean. E.g. I've run into a number of people who think that Thinking people are emotionless robots, or that Introverts can't be Feeling (I don't know where that comes from?)
Thanks for this!
