Can I be my own true Self AND be accepted for it?
Will I ever find my niche? Is that desire to have one good or bad, or just "is"?
Do I leave the social world or leave my Self? (why is it so black and white, and what do these words even mean??)
Can I be both/and, or must I be either/or?
Is it even safe or permissible to ask these questions??

I feel like I am being torn apart on the inside and yet I feel a sense of absolute freedom and self-acceptance asking these questions. The most freeing thing is finally refusing to question my own need to question - yet I am afraid that means I'm doing something wrong, or that maybe the answer I NEED is wrong, if it even exists at all.

As long as the mask you wear for the public doesn't become "you", then both your true self and the public can work together. Once you lose track of the inner you though, then the problems start. For example, I can honestly say that I don't know who I am. I'm working on it, but after doing some research into this whole True/False Self concept, it really seems I developed my false self long ago so that I would be acceptable to society. The problem is that I don't know what the truth is anymore so I gotta go find it.

Once found though, you can still interact well with the world as long as you know what the true you is all about.
Thanks for this!

it takes great courage to let go, and stop dreading. what will be, will be. to focus all one's attention on just noticing, moment to moment, what is happening, what is not happening, can be the difference between spinning out and staying still.

i have found so many benefits to Mindfulness Meditation, it's hard not to recommend it to everyone. it certainly does help slow down those drain-circling thoughts. if you really want peace of mind, look where peace of mind is found.

best wishes~
Gus

I am afraid to ask the question let alone find the answer
