now im not sure what forum this needs to be in, it might be Survivors Of Abuse but i am not sure...

see i am thinking of building a website for victims of abuse of any type...and im not sure how to go around it. i am about to begin making a website for my dads business, so that will give me the experience to be able to build a website.

i want the website to include contact telephone numbers for support lines, such as Childline etc, and i want links to places such as PC for victims who are currently dealing with abuse.

i would also like a section where it has stories from survivors who speak about how they got through it and what they did, who they turned to etc.

as a victim myslef i know what its like to have no one, and it will be support for victims of any abuse, whether it be physical, sexual or verbal etc.

but one thing i wanted to know is if any one here would be interested in writing an article on their story and how they survived it, and who they turn to for support. i definately want PC to be reffered to, with links to this site, if i am allowed of course.

but all i have is the idea and the tools to do it with, i dont know any more than this...like what to include, or who to speak to, whether i need a license etc. would anyone here know? but i definately want to do it, i have wanted to do so for years and now i am able to do it successfully.

i would like to start in the new year hopefully, and i would love to be able to include people from here, as i find so many of you inspirational and i truly believe it would help some victims of abuse.

let me know your thoughts on this if you could...

thank you.

simon, you can build your own website. the internet is wide open. then you can contact people privately and ask them if they are interested in telling their stories......sounds like a good idea to me.........xoxoxo pat

I think your passion will help your site alot A Little Advice?

For listings of hotlines etc--if you go to the website of the hotline in question, they will generally say link, get the word out.

PC : http://psychcentral.com/about/linktome.htm link policy.

To make a public service site like the one you seem to be referring to, you don't need a license or anything. I would say, just to be safe...denote on the site somewhere that you are making this site to help/suport, by a survivor for other survivors--something along those lines.

Include what you feel would be helpful to the different stages of suvivors. From those just coming out of the abuse, to those who have been away from it for years. Whatever you feel will reach out to those you are wanting to help. I think the links and stories are an excellent place to start. A Little Advice? Many times when starting a project, new ideas will come that will help you cover more ground as you go along.

Best of luck, Simon A Little Advice?
