We cannot escape fear. We can only transform it into a companion that accompanies us on all our exciting adventures. Take a risk a day - one small or bold stroke that will make you feel great once you have done it.

This little clip is referring to success in life. The small or bold strokes it's talking about is taking chances in your career or your daily life.

I know I'm stuck and have been for a while. I took a bold stroke but didn't follow through. What am I afraid of? The work involved? Success?

What do YOU feel is holding you back. What are you afraid of?

I hold myself back. I don't believe that I can do it, so I'm afraid to try. What is holding you back, Tomi??? At least you tried, that's one step closer to something...

I didn't try long enough and the different suggestions I was given. Not sure what I'm afraid of. Success? Work? Self-control/discipline? The feeling that haunts me the most is failure. Reason tells me I haven't failed yet because I haven't tried everything, but... what's the opposite of reason?... tells me I've already failed. That particular voice is louder than the voice of reason right now...

The more afraid you are of failure the more likely you are to fail. I remember a valuable lesson I once learned...

We went skydiving, all of us newbies and had a whole day of rigorous training first. On the one end of the fiels we were supposed to land in was an electric cable. Certain death if you got tangled in that and touched the ground. But our instructor said to take notice of it and then forget it. When you float down don't even look at it. The more you look at it, the closer you get to it because you move in the direction your head is facing... (not much wind that day) So, my point is, forget failure, don't focus on it, but rather focus on the task at hand, landing safely in the designated area...

For me, I haven't done my craft in such a long time it's hard to know why. I would say it's fear, it's work, it's out of the routine. I need to make it a HABIT again. So, that means getting materials out and ready to be easily played with. There is also another barrier for me which is I don't know if I can physically do the work I want to, will I be disappointed? Will I send myself into a pain flare?

Sometimes when I get "anxious" I tell myself I'm "excited" instead; they do feel similar to me but one has a better connotation and direction than the other.
