I have a serious problem with very negative, intrusive looping thoughts, which my psychiatrist told me is normal when one is depressed.

I'm curious as to how many other members have a problem with constant negative thoughts from their past. For me it is crippling and very hard to deal with.

I deal with that all the time and it is really hard. Have you talked about what the actual thoughts are?

I voted no. Do I recall my past? Yes. Do I have difficulty with processing those memories? No.

Because I process them, they are neither intrusive nor looping.

Takes quite some work-throughs to get there. When in a depressed state, it's more struggling, as self confidence slips and slides. The intrusion of the negative thinking patterns can hinder recovery from a depressive episode.

Are you also with a talk therapist, along with your pdoc?
