I can't get it out of my head. I've been going through it in my head and I don't get it and I feel I need to know. I know it is ridiculous, but I decided asking for input is probably healthier than trying to stop thinking about it when the thought pops up.
Someone told me that several of my diagnoses are retired and not accurate and not used. It puzzles me. I am diagnosed (formally) with depression with anxiety (I have no idea but it seems like a new European thing, that depression is not seen as coming alone) - I only have mild to moderate depression these days. Because of meds. Asperger's syndome (It has disappeared from DSM but here we use ICD and it is not meant to disappear until the next version in a few years or so) ADHD of the ADD type OCD - It is much better from meds but I still have it. Systemic lupus, Sjogren's syndrome and Hashimoto's I am also "diagnosed" with seasonal affective disorder circadian rhythm disorder of the DSPS kind but those have become subdiagnoses to depression and AS/ADD and do not have a standalone status. ---- So which one part from Asperger's is a retired diagnosis no longer used? I'm scratching my brain so much over this.

Maybe you should ask your doctor. I haven't had access to read the newest DSM, sorry.

It's OK. I don't have a doctor though. No one seems to where I live anymore.

You'll just have to start calling yourself vintage and then you'll be trendy.

If there is no name for your condition I would assume you are healed. Cured. 100%
You say you don't have a doctor. That is probably why you are OK. |

Hi Jimi,
I'm not even going to pretend to know about your physical issues! Without really knowing you I will say that yes anxiety and depression. Though the OCD is often part of the anxiety and part of the aspergers, so you could say that you don't have pure OCD on it's own because it's part of the other diagnosis's. Does that make sense. I could be totally off base though. ![]()

DSM5 says that anyone who was diagnosed with Asperger's in the past should have the new diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I understand that Asperger's is one of the retired conditions (since I am in Europe it is not retired YET), but the person said several are retired. That is what confuses me.
I have a standalone OCD diagnosis because Asperger's alone cannot explain the severity of OCD I have/had. I have asked for the circadian rhythm disorder to be a standalone diagnosis as well as it is very severe (varies between a 7 and 12 hours delay), but they say that issue ties much closer into both Asperger's and ADD than OCD does.
