I have had the most amazing day...one which I hope sets the tone for a wonderful new year to come. I'd like to share...
My youngest (19) was married on December 30th. She's a happy girl. She's also pregnant. She has an appointment scheduled for the 11th and had only had home pregnancy tests (7 of them...lol...she was in shock because she was taking BC pills). Anyhow, she's had some concerning symptoms that continued on to today so we went out the the ER. I just expected a pregnancy test and exam to make sure that she was pregnant and attempt to rule out a tubal pregnancy. They were WONDERFUL. The doctor was in there before she could change into the gown. He immediately set up an ultrasound. I had my first interaction with my first grandbaby today...I saw the little heart beating and cried when she turned up the volume and I heard the little beats at 133 per minute. They measured and said that she's 6 wks, 1 day into her pregnancy and said the due date is August 30. From there they told her that everything appeared very normal. Until that moment, I think I'd been in a bit of shock due to the massive concern for my daughter. In that moment reality, love, amazement filled me as I saw my baby's baby and heard the life there.  To top off my day, my oldest called to tell me that her and her husband of 1 1/2 yrs. just signed an offer for their first little home. She sent me to the website and it's an adorable little 3 bedroom brick in a wonderful neighborhood. Does is get any better? I just don't think so!!! I wanted to share with my online family. Y'all, we're having a baby!!! KD

 That is so great. What wonderful news Little footsies running around. I remember those days. Your daughter and her Husband must be so happy. First they just get married and a week later find out she is pregnant. Or did they know sooner?Your oldest daughter and her Husband buying there first house that is another blessing for your family. I hope they keep on coming! Congrats to you Grandma. I am so happy for you. Thankyou for sharing this wonderful news with us  Jlove

I'm so excited. I think I was in shock for a bit due to the many concerns for daughter and her health, which in turn made me concerned for the pregancy. She found out before the marriage. They were planning a marriage on Jan 27th but upped it. Daughter has two herniated discs in her back and I still have concerns. Also, she had to unprotected xrays at the hosp (chest for bronchitis) on Dec. 22. I was concerned about that as well. But seeing the heart beat and hearing it just brushed the concerns away...at least for the moment. I'm concerned for my little man and his response. We've had him for 2 1/2 years now full time and hope he does well with this. The good thing about her due date is that he'll be starting back to preschool 2 wks later which will give me some private gushing time. KD

That's a sweet story, and many good reasons to be happy..congrats to you and your children. This is a day you will remember, those are always the best and what's worth living for.

Thank you (((((( desirae )))))))) and that's so true. I marked it on my calendar and am going to journal tonight for the first time in forever. I want to remember this feeling forever.
I'm just coming out of a rough patch and this is proving the sharp turn that I needed. That strong beat of life gave me strength and hope... This baby's already a true blessing to me. KD

Daughter called me "mammaw" today...LOL. I guess her baby's gonna call me mammaw. I don't care what the baby calls me...hehehe. KD

I remember hearing my first baby's heartbeat for the first time at my ultra sound, the feeling is aesthetic and indescribable...I know how you're feeling. Enjoy the float in the clouds, it is a great feeling.

kd I hope you get to go into delievery with her! I was at my daughter's first ultrasound too and the feeling is incredible!! no words can describe that moment in time! this is going to be so much fun to follow for the next few months! lol

I'm still up in the clouds today. We all went to dinner tonight to celebrate. It was a nice time. Be, I hope that I can go in. She wants me to. Wow, my baby's having a baby. Also, my oldest called and the seller accepted their second offer!!! She and her hubby are getting their first home! It's a beautiful little three bedroom brick in a nice neighborhood about 20 mins from me!!! It's in move-in conditon and she's so excited! What a year already. Thank you all again!!! KD

Wow, amazing and awesome Kd. Babies are a gift for sure. So many blessings. And congratulations to eldest and the new house! It's a wonderful start to the new year. I wish you all so much happiness and peace in the next coming months. It's all going to work out.
