Some of you all know I'm a social worker. So when I find out about programs that are national and can help ppl out I like to pass it on.

This is one I got an email about and I've called and talked to them today. This is a wonderful organization from what I've learned. Each month they sell food boxes for $25. Each box is worth $50-$70 in value. The food is frozen and fresh food mostly.

There is NO INCOME RESTRICTIONS to receive the food.

www.anglefoodministries.org You can go to their website and pull up your state for the closest location. They are a word of mouth organization and if your group or church wants to get involved in the program you can contact them about how to go about that.

Thanks,
Lisa

It also would be good to note that they are only in about 2/3 of the states. Mine is not one of them.

My son and I go every 3rd Saturday of the month to help distribute the AngelFood boxesat our church. Its enuf to feed a family of 4 for a month.... and they also have other specials that are a real bargain and they take food stamps too..

Its an awesome ministry and I think any church can get involved..

I am still unable to work fulltime, which began when I had a major depressive episode in September, 2005, so I was recently approved for food stamps. When I had my face-to-face interview, the caseworker handed information for the Angel Food Ministries to me. She said she and her husband purchase the boxes and that the meats are very tender and overall really good food. Since it's enough to feed a family, one box every other month or so will likely be sufficient for my needs.

Faith, that is wonderful that you volunteer in this ministry at your church! Angel Food Ministries

I get that here in Arkansas. It is wonderful...I don't have a big freezer in my apartment so I store it in my mom's upright freezer and I still have some from about 3 months ago. It is wonderful and if you are in an area that does it I'd do it.
