Friends,

We are under a tornado watch. Not being a native of the Midwest, I find these unsettling.

If I'm still here, I will let you all know.

Hugs,

EJ

Hi Pilatus,

How about sending me a giant rope to tie myself down -- LOL.

(((Hugs)))) Yes, they occur often during the springish time... do you have a basement? What emergency stuff do you keep there if you do? Do you have a ditch outside that you can lie down flat in and be below ground level? Tornadoes don't actually come all the way down to the ground with the mass wind, but just above it, if you are below the average terrain in a ditch, odds are it won't directly affect you. You can still be hit by other objects though, but alive Tornado Watch

If you won't go outside, then go to the SouthWest corner of your home...lowest floor. It's an amazing fact, but if anything is left of your home, odds are it will be the SW corner of it.

Now, remember, tornadoes usually cut a very narrow swath across the land...for a very short time.

Hi,

I just checked, and the tornado watch is still on, although the sky is much brighter and less threatening looking now.

Sky, we have two very large interior closets, that we use for shelter when there are tornado warnings.

I don't think the basement was very large, but the last people filled it in. Sigh.

Thanks everyone for your concern.

Thanks, everybody!!!

We are out of the Tornado Watch.

Mssum, I would just like a little more of a break between the frigid temps, snow, and the tornado watches.

Hugs,

EJ

Me too!! I'm very, very tired of winter. All I heard today at work from every tax client was "just wait, the Farmer's Almanac is predicting the biggest snowstorm yet to hit."..........I just kept telling them...No thanks, I can wait.

Take care EJ

You don't have to worry unless the sky turns green. Trust me, if one is coming, you will know by that.

My dad used to stand out in the driveway during tornado warnings and look for them. I had the sense to take the dog in the basement, along with the candles and battery-operated radio. Tornado Watch

Wanna trade? We're having blizzard warnings! Tornadoes I can handle. Tornado Watch
