Since a few days ago I've had thoughts about killing a family member, almost an obligation. It comes and goes, but when it's here I get scared. I need this to stop. I have a horrible anxiety attack when I think about it. And the fact that there are knives around doesn't help.

Are you on any meds for this? In therapy or anything?

I think you should talk,to someone, a professional. It can't be pleasant for you and certainly won't be pleasant for anyone if it went too far and you acted on it.

I clicked this thread because I have been having some homicidal thoughts too, about an ex friend. I don't remember ever having thoughts like that before. Luckily she doesn't live near me, while I have her address and it would be possible for me to travel there, I don't want to do it enough to bother (it would be a long journey)

I've had other stuff on my mind the last few days so haven't thought of it, I guess it's easier to push the thoughts away cos I don't have to see this person. It must be hard if you see this person regularly. How long have the thoughts been there and did anything trigger them? (You don't have to answer here but maybe just think about the questions to help sort it in your mind maybe)

I really think you should talk to someone if there is even the slightest possibility of you acting on it. I plan to mention it to my psych on Wednesday, I can let you know what he says, if you like, if it would help at all?

I'm sure you're a good person and these thoughts must be alarming for you too.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
