This has been a problem for years and will continue to be so. It is unfortunate to say the least.

""""""""Fertik says he offers "a PR service for the everyday person," charging a fee that can be as low as $10 monthly, for a thorough search of Internet references. The "destroy" part starts with a polite letter and can occasionally lead to threatened legal action. (Generally, website operators are not liable for offensive postings.)""""""""""

so it really is as bad as i was beginning to suspect..........sigh......big sigh....................

Thanks for sharing that. I've noticed a great deal of posts everywhere on the Internet where people say all kinds of things they probably wouldn't in real life. I want people to speak honestly, but if they're not willing to say the same thing to the same people in their real lives, then it's cowardice. I find it really childish, the quickness with which people will ridicule people about being fat, and other things to do with appearance. If someone says or does something to offend you, deal with that.

You can start by not internalizing it or accepting that it's true. When someone is rude or offensive, they're telling you something about themselves, not you.
