I had 4 weeks off work. And have been back now for 2 weeks.
All my holidays, were bloody awesome. But the whole time, I felt so down, and alone, even though I was surrounded by so many friends and family and my boyfriend.
Now that I am back at work, and busy. I feel fine again. I feel good. But the minute I get down time, my mood comes crashing down.
I don't know if I'm just tired or what.
I don't want to always have this feeling of crap every time I get an hour to myself.
Is there anything wrong with me or am I all good...?

I tend to do this if I don't have something to occupy my mind. I get bored easily and feel that if I'm not doing something that I'm wasting time. I try to keep my schedule busy even when I have to myself. I call it structure.

Seems to be a slight depression. More mental then physical because distraction nullifies it like you said.

Q. Were you rushed or had to do things in a hurry
when you were a child?

There's nothing wrong with you. You probably thrive on staying busy as an avoidance to another issue? Like working and staying busy is your drug/alcohol.

Hi 20oney,

I think you will be fine.

I try to keep a balance in my life, for this prevents down time.

I am in agreement with avlady that for me....when I have too much down time and I have very little structure...I tend to get more depressed. There is something to say about having something on our minds such as work or whatever that keeps our minds off of ourselves. This is the key. This principle is much what mindfulness meditation is about.

Best wishes.

I experience what I call brain-chatter when I'm bored or restless.

I have difficulty with unstructured time. Not uncommon in depression apparently.
