This weird sensation just started for me yesterday(ish). I've always been kinda on the hyper side, but now I literally have to constantly move. And that usually involves squeezing multiple muscles over and over, usually leg or arm muscles. Which is totally new to me. I'm also really twitchy and more fidgety than usual (which is saying a lot). I basically feel like a live wire, it's weird and hard to explain. It kind of sounds to me like dyskenesia that comes from anti-psychotic meds, but I've never been on any of those. It's kind of like how I felt on stimulants, but not completely, and I'm not on any of those anymore.
Anyone else experience this, and know what might be causing it? It's driving me nuts. |

What you are explaining is called akathisia. This is what happens when someone has been on antipsychotics for a long period of time. I would definitely not let this go as it could be anything from a systemic problem to Parkinson's. I would not hesitate to call my doctor. I hope that you get some help for this. I have an inner restlessness but I have ADHD (hyperactive) and I take a low dose stimulant to calm this. As soon as I wake up my body is like a motor. The stimulant slows all of that movement down. Best wishes.

Well that doesn't sound good. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still hoping that it'll go away soon, but I'll call my doc if not. When I was taking stimulants, they slowed my mind down but after awhile gave me the same twitches and urge to squeeze my muscles. Who knows.
