Since I was 4yr I had doctors and psychiatrist trying to label me... none of the labels have stuck.. the first label was ADHD, and it has progressed to "Manic Depressive disorder" but i know that is usually known as bipolar.. And now they just dont know what's wrong with me... I have lots of things in a lot of categories... and my parents really think I'm just trying to decieve everyone, and even when I asked them directly for help... they just laughed and shook their head saying that I was just fine, that "no daughter of mine will be crazy" ... but the thing is..... all these "symptoms" are getting to me... and I can't really cope some days... and my grandmother (lived with my grandparents since I was 7yr, and they are who i call parents... both my mom and dad left me after they divorced.) anyways my grandmother seems to only get furious with me when I try to explain that i just need some time without her tugging on my pants, and telling me to look her in the eyes, or constantly talking to me. Perhaps she does that to see if I'm still living... for I dont speak that much, nor do I move much... only when I find it convient i guess....
But psychiatrist have said they are difenantly know that i have something to do with a achololic fetous or something like that? O_o? I kinda stoped listening when they were placing YET another label on me...
Any one know of any suggestions for me?

Welcome to PC, Lexi!

Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time getting anyone to listen. You've found a good place here and there are lots of good people here who will listen and support you.

Here is an article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome you might find helpful.

Hi Lexi,
I too lived with my grandparents after my parents divorce. Well, it was more of a shuffling I mainly stayed with them until I was 11 and then lived with just my biological father for awhile. Anyways, I am sorry you are having such a tough time. Just having all the turmoil of the parents divorce and dealing wiht your grandparents sounds like a lot to deal with. I don't know much about alcohol fetal syndrome, so I can't help you out there. I have been through a string of labels though---remember the labels are not you--you are a human being not a label.

check out foetal alchohol effects too. FAS has distinguishing physical characteristics whereas FAE doesn't... they might have had the latter in mind.
