All I do is work and sleep it seems, never much time for any thing else I work over nite. Here's the real kicker, I also hate any disruption in my routine. A no win situation I am so very sick of.

What kind of work do you do? Warehouse work?
I've done a tiny bit of warehouse work where I worked through the night. It's not something I could do.

Oh I hate when I get in a rut, it happens alot. Work then home, everyday the same thing. It gets bad that sometimes I don't even want to go home to my place.

I don't have a bad job, tech support and pays well, but I still never have any extra money and it seems all I do is work and sleep.

I know hoe you feel...everyday seems the same...rewind and repeat. Where i live i have a job, unlike most, a family and some friends and things are good i suppose. then there are times i just cant see the point in any of it, i try to be positive, look on the bright side, it could be worse......but it just all..........i cant do it, i cant force myself to see it another way. i wish i could be happy-go-lucky, but i just cant do it. even thinking about it pisses me off. i just cant find, see, discover, locate or buy THE POINT.

i don't have a job because i'm disabled with seizures etc from accident, i understand how you feel as i had several jobs before then. i myself only wish i could have at least a part time job, but i see your points i would not like to work full time and that being all i do.

I think society and the working culture needs to change. I mean in the UK and i've read in the past the US have long working hours. So no wonder people get depressed and go on meds. All it is, is work, sleep and then spend any whatever time you have over the weekends with family.
Thanks for this!

I'm a night security guard, except on the weekends when I switch to days. Between working nights and switching my sleep cycle every weekend I hardly see or speak to anyone who isn't at work. My family is (literally) right there with me, but they're always asleep when I'm home and awake and I'm always at work or asleep while they are active. Maybe it's time to look around for a new job that lets you work days? Either way, good luck. Hang in there.

Thinking of you - I have felt similarly in the past. I'm now disabled and my life has done a 180-degree turn with hardly any routine. It's not healthy so I'm working on structure ... I think us finding a balance in the middle somewhere is ideal. Thinking of you and hope things get better for you.

I think it's about finding that balance between work and life.

How do you find that balance? more like looking for a needle in 10 haystacks.
I'm beginning to hate my routine, now I'm becoming addicted to random things that aren't part of the routine.

I know the annoyance of everyday routine.. It's like our lives are written for us or something. Everything but my job is great right now. Well except my meds and my head but I've gotten used to that just never changing, or always changing.. haha.... If it makes anyone feel any better I work for a rude, disrespectful, mean, doctor who should be doing something else.. I've dealt with him for 17 years and I don't know how much longer I can sit back and be treated like this. and how much longer I can sit back while he treats patients the way he does. I feel pretty hopeless right now.

It's funny how many people (including myself) are sick of our job routine but hate change at the same time. I've noticed that I'm way less tolerant to changes now than when I was younger. Fear of losing what we have is a powerful motivator.
