I am so excited tonight! I have been looking for a new job and faxed a few resumes late this afternoon. I got two calls back already, both doctors--the one was very in love with my resume and already finished interviews, but just had to talk to me! He gave me his cell phone number in a message so I could call him after hours. We talked for quite a bit on the phone. We are meeting for a real interview tomorrow!!! The office will be closed, but he'll be at the hospital checking on patients in the morning so he will be in the area and will open up the doors to meet me. I applied to an ad for a part-time job, but after he saw my resume, I could very possibly be full-time to help cover other areas of the office. The ad said it was for clerical work, but right now he seems interested in placing me in primarily clinical with some clerical. I am so happy and excited that my chest has been hurting a little bit, LOL! This job really sounds great, and he will pay VERY well! If I do clinical and clerical work, he said that I will have an increased pay rate. He asked if I had any questions, so since my insurance is ending I asked if part-time might include any benefits. He said no, but seems interested in giving it to me. He is aware that I my current insurance is ending, and I am pretty sure that I'll have no problem in getting it whether I work part or full-time there. He REALLY REALLY wants me. It sounds like a nice typical doctor's office or clinic type setting, but maybe of the smaller variety. He's going to talk to another doctor he works with to see if that guy might be interested in using me, too, to give me extra work hours.
I am in the running for another job right now as well at a very big company/hospital, but that one is entirely on feet. With my arthritis, I won't have any sit-down time when I'll need it. At least if I have this other job at the doctor's office, I will have access to a chair now and then. I'll also *maybe* only have to work one Saturday every two or three months. Plus, there are the extra fringe benefits of working so closely with doctors--potentially free medical care and/or prescriptions! ![]() I'll just have to watch my eating habits and weight working at a doctor's office, 'cause I know that otherwise if I don't, they will. How would I be able to explain to a medical doctor that skipping meals is healthy? Don't think so. Thanks for your support, guys! Luv y'all!! |

Thanks, everyone! I just looked up this doctor on the internet and there's a picture of him--he looks close to my age, and kinda cute, too!

Inky,
I wish you all the best of luck with this, and I hope you get the job that you want. I know it's hard waiting for an answer, but try to relax. Good things are going to come your way!
