Yikes. Florida on fire

We have 220 wildfires burning in the state right now. Not a drop of rain in sight and yet the poor folks in Missouri are drowning.

Then there's Andrea, the first named storm of the season and hurricane season hasn't started yet. Wacky weather for sure.

Yikes. Florida on fire

(((((((( Pet & Tomi )))))))))))

Stay safe. Don't take any chances! Go to safety if there is even the hint of danger.

Are the fires near you?

Hugs,

Jan

None near by as far as I know. But I am supposed to travel to Orlando on Saturday (for work Florida on fire )and they already mentioned on the news they might have to shut I-4 down, of course that's the way I go.

Last year I was stuck on the highway for four hours coming home from work. The fires had jumped the road so they detoured us into the booonies which were also on fire.

I had no idea where I was because I was not familiar with that area. (The downfall of traveling for work) They had evacuated the neighborhood so there were people sitting on their cars lined up on both sides of the road. Florida on fire

I was petrified and I had to Florida on fire Florida on fire

Pet, call them and cancel! Your safety is more imporatant than your work!

Everyone, please stay safe.

When I was working, my boss moved here from Arkansas. We had wildfires out of control all over the place. The winds shifted and blew the smoke and ashes all over the downtown valley. By the time I walked from the parking garage to the office, I smelled of soot and smoke. The sky was so smoky the days were completely grey. This went on for a couple weeks at least.

My boss received a call and someone asked him how his move had gone. I heard him say, "I think I've moved to Hell."

Fires aren't that close to me this time, thank God! Heard on the news this morning, though, that the Griffith Park Observatory came close to burning! That would have been a great loss!!

We're in a Catch 22 here. We only had 2" of rain all winter so we don't have much new growth but what is there is about as dry as it can get. Next time there's a good rain, there will be some hellacious mud slides. Florida on fire

There were pics on MSN of how close it came to the observatory. I'm so glad it was spared.
