Jan,

I feel exhausted from my teaching experiences this semester.

I think I always experience some grief when I know I won't be seeing my students anymore.

I don't think Mother's Day and the end of school came together like this last year.

I have been working and working to wrap up both my classes, and I think I finally have the final pulled together for my last class this Wed.

One of my students seems to have lied to me about turning in his paper, and this has bothered me to no end.

I'm struck with the two parts in me today...the sad part as my Mom and Dad died when I was 10,

and the adult part - seeing clearly enough to be so grateful for my supportive husband and three beautiful/healthy kids - I want them to know THEY are ENOUGH, but I'm so sad today.

I want to honor my Mother by Mothering well, but, sometimes I have to just grit my teeth to get through the day...It's not fair to my kids though

I've been near tears all weekend... even when I'm not thinking of her... just hurting. It's like a heavy load that I can't shake. Is anyone else like that today??

I wasn't the daughter she had hoped for and she wasn't the mom I needed. Don't know that I've resolved those issues yet. Doesn't matter. Just wish she was still here, at least for today.

I'm sad too, for myself and all the other birthmothers out there who no one ever recognizes or remembers, and who continually are told by people who have never experienced such a deep trauma to "get over it already." My son will be 19 in a couple of weeks and while time has healed some, it has not, cannot, and will not heal all, and I have a helluva time getting people to understand and accept that. So I'm feeling very alone today. I chose to give my son a better life, which he has had, in spades. He is my only child and I mourn that too today -- lost opportunities, I guess. I like to think I would have been a good mom, but I gave up the chance so as not to ruin my boy's or any other kid's life while I figured it all out.

My mom passed a year ago May 7th and this Mothers Day is very hard for me. Through all the rough times we had growing up I know she loved me. The cards and cake every year she gave me were very special. I'm feeling very empty right now. I'm hurting ALOT.

I kept hanging on to my oldest son and to his boys trying to keep them here longer. I managed it for a while, but they finally had to leave. As soon as I saw the car pull away, my spirits bottomed out again. NOW what am I going to do the rest of the time till it's time to go to bed??

Today I feel sad because I lost my mother, I hurt because I don't remember her... I feel guilty for not remembering. I lost my enitre life before that moment when I found out and all I wish for is even a memory for her to live on in. I am grateful for my grandmother and I am hopeful that I will be a mother in the next 10 years.

To everyone out there, I am sorry if you have lost another, we will make it!! and remember everyday that you are wonderful!
