...to go into an exam knowing you're not going to do well, and get the result you expected, or go in with some hope that you'll pass, and be disappointed? Is it better... My maths exam is tomorrow, and I'm still hardly getting any past paper questions right...I really don't see myself getting above a C, and at this rate even a C is looking unlikely. Is it better... It's my own fault, should have started revising properly sooner. Is it better...

Is it better... I don't know why I'm complaining...I don't even need these exams, I've got my university place already. I don't want to fail, though. Is it better...

If you don't need the C, then I suppose it's best to just see how you do on the day. If you don't do very well, then it doesn't make any difference. If you do better than you think, then you can celebrate Is it better...

Good luck though, anyway Is it better...

Thanks, silver_queen. That's true. Is it better... (I was predicted a B grade...considering the results of the most recent tests I've been doing, though, I think that's a little optimistic. Is it better...)

I didn't study hard for my final I just had last Tuesday but back when I was taking similar exams my first go around in the 1960s and 1970s I wouldn't study at all and would get a "C" so I knew my fear of failure was probably "illogical". How do you "normally" do on maths? You'll probably do about the same? That's what I comfort myself with at any rate. Not a whole lot one can do about it "now" anyway if it's too late?

Best attitude I have for myself is to do the best I can while I'm there. I usually get into a rhythm and things get better after I've been working for a bit; I guess it's like sports when they talk about being nervous before the first score, etc.

Thanks for replying, Perna. Like I said to silver_queen, I was predicted a B grade, but in my prelim I got 58% and in the last test I got 54%, which are both Cs. I'm worried because it seems to be going down instead of up. Is it better...

That makes sense, thanks. Is it better...

you're more likely to pass if you have a positive attitude. coz if you don't believe you'll pass it you wont try your hardest coz you don't see the point. if ya get what i mean?

That's a good point, BeyondRedemption, thanks. If you don't mind my asking, where in Scotland are you? (I'm in Perthshire. Is it better...) Are you sitting exams as well?
