I have not posted this in the technical forum as I need a more varied response.

I have contacted my ISP about what I consider to be very poor browsing. I am on broadband and I have had more hassles and issues from when I was on dial-up.

What should I expect from a site like this? What sort of speed?

For example, it will take me 3 minutes to log in. 3 more minutes to get to General. Between 2 and 5 minutes to navigate threads on general ... the rest leaves me fairly frustrated but I persevere!

Sometimes, the going is really good, but most times it isn't.

So what I am asking - is this what I should expect in terms of a big site, with a lot of graphics. Perhaps I just need to accept once and for all that this place is huge and that it is not my ISP's fault that things don't always happen here ....

Am I being unrealistic? My internet browsing is generally ok, but forums seem to always cause an issue (especially this blessed place!!)

The problem is not mine, nor does it seem (in their opinion) to be my ISP's. I don't believe the problem is on-line ...

having said that ... what more can I do? Coming here and any forum for that matter sends me into a near panic attack so often .............. Things just refuse to load - and my ISP say everything is fine!

Once again, am I being unrealistic?

PS - I am respectfully asking that you don't give me advice on clearing cookies and temp files, running ad-aware, virus stuff and the like - I do all of that - regularly - my forum time and space remains compromised!

Sabrina,

What are you using for an operating system? What browser are you using?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
