During the First World War, my great Grandfather rose up after a big German gun shell.

He was alone to rise up after the beating, and there was a soldier dying who made some sounds.

My great gradfather, André, came by his side. In his mumblings, he was rubbing his torso.

André checked in the German inside pocket vest, and found a picture.

It was the picture of the German soldier's wife and his daughter.

He wanted to drink, so he gave him some water.

Then, feeling satisfied, he watched his wife and daughter on picture and he died...

My great grandfather said that day that humanity had no borders, even in no man's land.

Sincerely,

Starbuck
