Need thoughts, prayers and/or meditations please.

There are indications that my daughter's grave's disease is escalating despite the usage of the auto-immune drugs that aren't approved for pregnancy and are known to cross the placenta. She'll be 26 wks tomorrow.

They said that they were concerned about her third trimester because she didn't even out as most do during the second trimester. We're just entering it and it's proving concerning.

When she last went to the endo, he said that her counts were up and her goiter had grown even more...significantly. Indicators.

Since she's been pregnant and hyperthyroid her heart rate could get as high as the 160's but always come right back down to 110-120. Well, starting this past weekend and still continuing, it's going up into the 180's just to pee. If she stays up, it stays up. It's rarely going below 120 now...even sleeping and resting.

Also, she's been feeling like she's fading out if she stands too long. Her body's so weak from fighting so hard for so long in this condition and due to heart rate. Also, now, she's extremely short of breath just to pee. A shower leaves her in a crying heap, out of breath and extremely weak. She's done NOTHING but rest.

The dr's called her in for emergency bloodwork and put an ASAP on it, with orders that she's to go to ER with ANYTHING concerning. They've increased her PTU, 1/2 again as much as she's taking now...she's up to 300 mg. per day.

To top it off, PTU can affect the liver and hurt the white blood counts, and she ALREADY has hepatitis right now as well...due to the grave's and hyperthyroidism...her second round with it during all this.

My prayer at this point is that little Jonathan be delivered as soon as possible and him be OK...even if he's in the hospital for a bit. I'm wondering how soon it will be until he's safer out here than he is in there. Also, my daughter will be able to do what she needs to take care of her out of control body...including beta blockers.

My daughter was just 19 this past November, and is the strongest person I know.

Keep them in your thoughts, prayers and meditations please.

Thanks and love,

KD

Thank you, Pat.

I keep reminding myself of what you've told me and it helps...alot.

I had to tell her today that it's time to ask the doctor's some hard questions...like when delivery should be considered, when would he be safer outside the womb, etc.

They're helping her find a good pediatrician that will help with this, and of course, her endo will be involved with Jonathan's care as well because he could be born hyperthyroid if her antibodies cross the placenta, or he could be born hypothyroid, etc. if the PTU crosses the placenta.

If this happens, he might have to be watched and on meds himself for the first 8 wks or so.

Thanks again,

KD

I did want to add that included in prayers, thoughts and meditations is that Jonathan NOT experience tachycardia himself.

He's not so far, and that's one of their biggest concerns.

KD, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope she sees improvement and/or you all find some workable answers very soon.

About her heart rate and peeing...maybe she could use a bedside commode or even a bedpan if that would help her rest and conserve her energy?

*tears*

Thank you so much everyone!

This is the longest period of "maintaining/watch and see" that I've ever been through, with such concern added. Wow. It's wearing, yes.

My daughter is doing a bit better today! Her heart rate hasn't gone over 164!!!! That's normal for her these last several months. Prayers/thoughts/meditations seem to be working! She seems less hyperthyroid acting (there are certain physical and emotional ways to tell). I'm beginning to wonder if she'd missed some meds and not told anyone? It could flat our be the power of CARE. Daughter's illness is escalating

We're still waiting for the dr. to call to let us know her levels and if they've escalated, and what to do about the meds.

Her OB called with concern, but said she needs to stick close to her endo right now. I guess he's just going to be involved from here on out to help this little one actually enter this world.

My boy is going to mamaw's today as an unexpected treat for us all Daughter's illness is escalating I get to spend my time cleaning and doing laundry, but that will help me feel better...more in control. Tonight he'll be tired and sleep and I'll have some alone time then hopefully. Daughter's illness is escalating

Thank you all so much and I wanted to let you know *in appearance* she seems to be doing some better!

KD
