Mine didn't try for years. When I finally started talking to them again, they said that I had made it clear that I wanted to be left alone. Well, maybe after they threatened to follow me and run my life forever. It's hard (for them, and for us) to learn the balance. I don't know about you, but I didn't wanted to be smothered anymore, but I didn't want to be abandoned either. I wanted them to care about me *and* to let me have a life of my own. I guess they didn't know how to do both. I've been away from my parents for half of my life now (19 years), and it gets better, but there is still a hole there, and trying to fill the whole feels dangerous like it might be a trap. Is that how it feels for you too?

Thing about parents and children is sometimes it's hard to read the "boundaries" we all set in place. I know with my kids, it's not easy to understand when they need me to step back and be quiet and when they need me to step up and give them information and attention. What's even harder at times is expressing what you need and want.

You can always depend on us being here for you dear ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((inny))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I know it's not the same as our parents, but we'll do our best to hug you when you need it Its really funny

Its really funny

thinking of you dear. i find it hard to answer this as i am not one that is a parent fan. but i hear you and it is hard to be a parent myself. i stand back at times because i want to not step in their way. but my love for them never changes, for my children that is. for my parents it is not the same, i dont have any. but sabby is right, we are here for you always. we love you inny.
