Hi. I am 8weeks. This pregnancy was completely unexpected.. I have a 5 yr old.. I gave up custody because I already have a hard time figureing myself out.. I have her every other weekend.. I always worry that she will end up having bpd as well I am scared that any child I have will suffer from this. I am a good mom.. And I have drastically improved in they last 3 years with no major out breaks and self mutilation.. I have been feeling more crazy lately.. I have already lashed out at my bf... it has not been easy so far.. I am scared that they stress and panic I am feeling is affecting my unborn child negatively.. I am afraid that my baby will be bpd... I am scared about alot of things

Hello Kay and I'm glad you're here. I'm sure you do have a lot of fears.

You don't say if you're in therapy or not. I wish I knew. If you are in therapy you can ask your therapist the questions that scare you. He can reassure you about a lot of things.

If you're not in therapy, ask your medical doctor about referring you to a good therapist. He will know who to send you to. And if you're in Medicaid, most states Medicaid programs will cover that. Check with yours.

I wish you the very best. You do need therapy sweetie. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee

Welcome to PC, Kaywow. Pregnancy can be stressful enough without BPD, and I know that for myself I am also concerned about passing on mental illness to any children I might have. Hang in there...you've got us, if nothing else. What's your support system like? Friends? Family? Professionals? Working on building that up might help you feel more confident. to you...

Hi
I understand your fears, I have the same fears too. But, don't let them stop you from enjoying your kids and your life. They'll likely be just fine, but on the off chance they ever suffer a mental health problem, at least they know they have a lovely caring mummy to go to for help and advice because you'll understand them.
If you feel you're struggling at the moment, it may well be hormones. With my last two babies my mental health really took a nosedive and anxiety went through the roof. Don't be afraid to ask for help
Thanks for this!
