How about this one...the satisfaction of telling my pdoc I have taken all my meds since the last appointment.

I am up early painting…I just shut off my music because the birds are just waking up. Listening to the birds chirp first thing in the morning is invigorating. Makes me look forward to the new day.

Hmmm....

- the way the sea is a different colour every day
- the sound of the morporks at night
- the sound of all the other birds at dawn
- reading a good book, or reading a legal case and actually agreeing with the judge for once
- coffee with my friends
- the look in my boyfriend's eyes when he smiles at me

A smile from my husband as we laugh together...

Watching my Sugar Gliders play and romp for hours on end...

Knowing my boys, almost half grown men, still love and need their mom, mommy...

A warm hug from my one year niece as she lays her little hands upon my face, then smiles...

Seeing my cat victoriously catch the local chipmunk and then let it go again. It is like a tag game between them.

Hearing my sons get along instead of arguing.

Listening to motivational songs.

Receiving compliments on my breads.

I thought of something else that gives me pleasure last night while showering (keep your minds outta da guttah! LOL!)

My shower radio - I love having music to listen to while I shower. Showers feel great, but I find them kind of boring, so the music really keeps it fun!

Taking the deck off my new lawn tractor to install the mulched & getting it put back together without any spare parts & even having it run & mow my huge lawn. (then finding out there was an easier way to do it than to follow those instructions & laughing at myself).

Putting my dumper trailer for my lawn tractor together & finding out when I went to attach the hitch that the holes to do it with were at the back of the trailer rather than the front where they should have been (oops, I put it together backwards).....getting that oops fixed & having a beautiful new dumping trailer to haul things around my farm in.

Doing some trim painting in my house & adding the finishing touches to some of the rooms as I see it all coming together.

Learning new things everyday.

Meeting new people & getting to know them where I moved to way across the country.

Realizing that I am as independent as I thought I was 32 years ago.

Calling to my doggie while he is investigating our new farm & having him run to me like the wind.....giving me huge kisses when he gets to me like he has been gone forever.

And of course, a nice hot shower in the morning to get my stiff joints & muscles moving.

Watching my baby foal (3 years ago now) just 2 hours after birth....then after only a few days, having her so imprinted to me that she comes running up to me with her little whinny to greet me when she sees me.

Looking out over the woods on my farm in the morning sunrise & watching the sunset from my porch swing.

Oh, the best.....watching the fireflys for the first time since I was a child(I call them twinky bugs) twinkle around the yard & in the trees.....catching them in my hand & having my doggie sniff at it & have it crawl onto his nose & light up like Rudolph.

a shared smile.... soul to soul.. with complete understanding...of each other...

the geese... forming huge V's... overhead... as they form for migration... seeing the one that is way... out of formation... catch up... and be accepted... into the V

a humming bird... hovering... in the air.... seemingly to just... be suspended...

squirrels in the spring... chasing each other... around and up the tree trunk of my tree just outside my window...

the "perfect" feel... of my bedsheets... and blankets - the softness.. the smell... the feeling of warm...

the smell of my coffee as it brews in the morning... filling the house with such a feeling of safety....

the clouds... waiting at the pdoc... watching them thru the huge skylight....

waiting in line at the grocery store... and "playing" with the baby in the cart ahead of me....

and the beagle.. next door... hearing her "howl"... knowing that "all is good in the world".... because she is happy because she is doing her "howl"....
