Hi folks, time to pass the hat for one of our long-time (3 years!), loyal members.

If you've been here for any length of time, you probably know fayerody. She's a wonderfully supportive member who has a big heart and spends a lot of time posting throughout the entire community.

She had an incident where she lost all of her money in her bank account. It is a sad story... Sometimes people can be such....

Well, anyway, long-story-short, her rent is coming due quickly. This is a one-time emergency incident.

As with the last round, Psych Central will match all funds up to a total of $450 for this fund drive.

As always, I cannot emphasize this enough -- these fund drives work best if even those of modest, middle income needs can donate a few bucks -- even $5 or $10 helps out!

As a reminder, anyone who donates any amount gains access to our exclusive, private Supporters' Forum. This private forum is one small way we can say, "Thank you" for helping out your fellow member in this way.

Make your donations through PayPal to:

donations@psychcentral.com

or via snail mail to:

Liviant LLC
PO Box 5464
Bradford, MA 01835

Make any checks or money orders payable to: Liviant LLC

Thank you very much!
DocJohn

Forgive my ignorance -- there is an email address. How does that connect me to PayPal.--==-- Community Fund Drive for Fayerody! --==--

Sorry -- I'm not that savvy about PayPal.

Is there a time limit for accepting donations as there has been in the past? I would like to send something, but disability doesn't come in until the 3rd.

Thanks,
Dee

Hi,
Go to paypal.com and click on the top tab that says "send money." Enter in the email address at that point.
Take care,
Okie

Paypal accepts credit cards, debit cards and checking accounts and is the easiest way for us to accept money from individuals. If you don't have an account, you can get one for free:

http://www.paypal.com/

The fund drive for pat (fayerody) is open until Aug. 4.

And if you can't give anything but still would like to express your support to her, please just let her know in this thread!! Often times, when in need, such support is just as helpful as the money.

Thanks!
DocJohn

Done!

Faye - I am so sorry, as if you don't have enough to deal with - then this. It's so hard to keep believing in the human race when things like this happen but there are the good folk who will hold you up when you need it most.

I'll send positive healing and caring vibrations your way.

Tranquility

Due to financial difficulty of my own (and the exchange rate), I am unable to contribute though I would dearly love to. It is a terrible thing that happened to you Pat and I am sending you plenty healing thoughts and vibes.

I can't remember how to send. Help? I clink on the link DJ gave and it takes me to my mail to send mail.

I don't think that's the way I did it before?

Thanks for any help!

yesterday morning when i found out what had happened, i could not have been lower. i went through the entire system of shock, denial, grief, acceptance and really mad in about 15 seconds. then i got numb.

i started worrying about those bills. and it all became magnified for me. it also took me back to three years ago when i lost my house in NM....for those who are new, it's a long story, but it involved my neighbor (who's parent's i had fed) and the federal government. he took my legal description and filled out a warranty deed to himself and his wife and borrowed $kkk on my home.....i had no idea that had happened. when i went to sell it, i couldn't. it was in foreclosure with him and he took bankruptcy. the government got involved and seized my house saying "yes, we know it belongs to Mrs. _______ but his creditors MIGHT have a claim against it"......it was litigation for three years. i couldn't touch it....nothing......yeah, we sued everyone.......judge bundled the cases and we got a pittance. my lawyer even cut his legal fees in half........so he got what came out of the deal. of course, buyers ran like hell.....who is going to try to buy a house that the government seized due to your insane neighbor?

i didn't realize how much that still bothers me til yesterday.....it brought it all back up. betrayal again by someone i've helped.

p.s. my dog, fayeroe, got into the kitchen during the night and ate my last flour tortilla and my last two slices of bread!!!!!! --==-- Community Fund Drive for Fayerody! --==-- as Gilda Radner said, "it's always something".........i'm not sure that i can make a full pitcher of lemonade yet, but i'm trying. --==-- Community Fund Drive for Fayerody! --==-- (if a patient asks me to have lunch today with them, i'm definitely going to)

thank you all so much, xoxoxo pat p.s. this might sound silly but one of the things that upsets me the most is that he knew that i was going to buy groceries yesterday.......

and i was .40 overdrawn and he knew that my account was empty!!!! he knew that i was out of milk and all staples......(he ate alot when he was here fixing stuff, etc.) there is a silver lining to that.....what if i had gone to the grocery store and loaded up and my card had been declined?????????? i would have passed out right there in the store.....

Hopefully the care here can work at replacing a little of that old ugly with care and support.
