Haha -- I lost a jury duty summons -- nothing subconscious in that, heh? Anyone know what to do?

Your county courthouse probably has a website, check it out. They often contain that kind of information.

Or call the jury commissioner - they should have your name. In Arizona where I am if someone does not show up for jury duty without calling in, a judge hauls them in for a hearing and has fined some $500 - way to make happy future jurors.

ask them if you can post a "guilty has charged" plea in the post, so that it wont waste your time, and theres, sittng threw the trial, if that dont get you disqualified has a juror think of something else.

there is a saying here in the uk, if you are picked to be a juror for a trial, and your to stupid to find a reasonable excuse to get out of it, you deserve to be there.

I nosed around the Court site, and I know where to start my calls on Monday. Good thing I remember which court I was summoned to, what with local, circuit, federal.

I just read your post after receiving a summons myself on friday. I don't know why they even sent me one....because the last time they did, my pdoc sent it back that I was permanently disabled.....guess they don't listen & think I have to go through tthose hoops all over again....just because they didn't keep that information permanently on record. When they see permanent, they should just take your name off the list.

I too have to call on Monday....but I am going to use that I no longer live in LA as my basis for not serving......the date they had for me serving was when I was going to be doing my first moving haul back to Kentucky anyway. For me, it is just easier to use that if they accept that than to go through getting all the Dr signature within the 5 days they give you....I won't be serving either way....& if I have to, my pdoc will fill it out again.

LA county in California is huge.....looking at the jury notice....at least they had me located at the one in my own City or Lancaster. Most of the time, they schedule people from the northern most part of the County in the southern most courthouse.....at least they are improving on that.

see here are my credentials for belonging on this site: im a lawyer so i ll never get called to be on a jury and that really upsets me cos id love to be. i think it would be so cool! see? totally crazy. hehehe.
hope you can get out of it though if you dont want to do it.
