Can any of you identify?
I have been fretting for weeks knowing I had enrolled in two grad classes for the fall semester as my teaching job resumed. I did this so I could expedite finishing my MA degree, but also realize I'm not up to it! Just one class on top of my teaching job with middle schoolers is almost too much. So, just a few minutes ago, I dropped one class and now look forward to having just one on which I can concentrate. I'm a wimp in many ways. I admire people who can multi-task, but also I've learned what is reasonable for me. My daughter got her MA just as the twins were infants, and at the same time, my son-in-law got his Ph.D. I don't know how they managed to do this...maybe it's youth!
Anyway, I have learned I have to pace myself. Can any of you identify?
Patty

Hello Patty the best lessons are as follows:
1 KNOWING WHEN TO SAY NO & WHEN
2 KNOWING WHEN TO REFER TO NUMBER 1
I feel that you made a wise decision not to over do it at this time. Doing more and achieving less doesnt make you a better person it just makes you INSANE. Take care. Soidhonia

Thanks, Soidhonia..
I am like a turtle, retreating into the safety of my shell most of the time, and I have to "Thimk, thimk, thimk"!! (winnie the pooh) about things before doing them. Taking on too much really exhausts me and I get nothing worthwhile done!
Thanks, dear!
Love
Patty

Patty,

Your decision is very wise. You are not a wimp. Good for you for taking care of yourself!

Hugs,

Jan

Thank you, sweet January...
I have learned what I can do...that's all! Sure, it will mean I won't get the pay upgrade till the following school year, but it's okay. Better to have peace of mind.

Thank you,
Patty

((((((((( Patty ))))))))))))))

You are so right. It's much better to have peace of mind and resist throwing yourself into something that is nerve wracking. I remember when I thought I could take on the world and then I started counting the cost of what it was doing to me. Hurrah for you for your wisdom!

Hugs,

Jan
