Some day I would love to sit in the woods and be able to here all the sounds when sitting in the woods I used to enjoy this a lot. Now It is different every day, not in one ear but in my head 1-3 tones at a time sometimes sounding like air is leaking out of my head. Some-days I could swear the raidio is on and yes music very bad too a wonderful choir lately I have heard Come On Feel the Noise by Qiute Riot no joke Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven Simon and Garfunkel the season John Lennon love don't come easy and top it off with Crazy Train by Ozzy .Some tones annoy me more than others. Is there anyone who has to deal with this everyday. The not so funny thing is if you ever heard the song stairway to heaven part of the the Lyric's are your head is humming and it won't go in case you don't know the Piper calling you to join him.

I've been dealing with this for 6 years or so. It definitely has gotten easier than in the beginning, but can still be bothersome to say the least (especially at night). The intensity changes quite often and sometimes the ringing can be so loud where it drowns everything else out - it is definitely scary. I swear I hear acoustic guitars and sometimes females singing even.

well there is a thing called exploding head syndrome. My ringing head all staerted the morning of sept 30 2015 when I awoke to a series of brain zaps that sounded like a pack of firecrackers in my head I'm not who I used to be this was caused by a 50% reduction of paroxetine by my psych they reintroduced it back but none of my meds seem to work as well.

Oliver Sacks wrote a book about this called Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.

I don't have anything like this. I prefer total silence. I was even wearing ear plugs 24/7 when I could but it made the wax build up in my ears so I had to stop.

Once I was meditating and heard a clap of thunder in my brain. It was pretty shocking. I meditated for years and years to see if it would happen again. It didn't.

The Buddhist say if you meditate long enough you will "hear" dakinis (angels) singing. Hindu lore has it if you meditate long enough you will "hear" something called "the silent singer." I have experienced both.

Since my depression started two years ago I find music unbearable. I am the opposite of you. I am waiting for music in my ears. Lennon would be a great start. Or Dylan. I have a large collection of music in my closet, untouched. A guitar, untouched. Depression took music.

I think spending time in nature would be good as a cure. I am sorry to hear of your condition. Try again going into nature. Try. It can't hurt.

I think I understand...when I'm not doing well I hear Pink Floyd songs (all the sounds) in my mind, running non-stop. It's not funny at all.

Do you see a pdoc?

I think that sound like what happened to me. But I am not on any meds. I admire your ability to meditate. I can't do it. My mind goes off on tangents.....

It could be in your brain, though, and not something physical in the ear that can be fixed to stop the sound. Oliver Sacks explains all this in his book but it was a long time ago since I read it. It could be a neurological dilemma. Sorry for your distress. It sounds terrible. (No pun intended )

What is a pdoc? I need to tell you this was happening for years before i went deaf and the doctor put tubes in . It all got worse after the tubes I see a ENT for this. When I was 8-10 yrs old I started having a low tone in my head for 5-10 sec but for the next hour or so I remember being in a dream like really spaced out then i would be tired.
