I am wondering how many other ladies are on here that went through menopause and if your mind was affected? Mine was...I was scatterbrained, anxious, and OCD for 4 years. I couldn't remember doing things I had just done. I became a "checker" of everything before leaving the house over and over. It is over now, but it was a time...yuck.

I'm in perimenopause and you have described quite well my symptoms. I still believe too however that much of this has been exaggerated by my medications.

I've been through menopause and didn't have any problems mentally, just hot flashes and tiredness.

I have recently been through menopause. I believe I had severe anxiety and depression due to menopause. I am trying to crawl out of the hole I've been in for the past 4 years.

I have just started the change. The man I am seeing complains that I am moody and my personality is "uneven." He makes a motion with his hands like a roller coaster going up and down hills. He seems to think I should be happy and upbeat all the time. My kids have not complained of any personality changes, and no hot flashes yet. I do have trouble collecting my thoughts sometimes. I cannot remember things like I used to.

@justafriend306..I am not on any meds..so it all came naturally. Natural crazy. LOL!!
@Laurie: yes it is a weird experience. I am glad it's over.
@ gaylegg: I was tired as well, but had very light hot flashes. Not too bad. The mental was worse by far than the physical.
@gothicpear: A man will NEVER understand.
Thanks for this!

I didnt know it was menopause. I had just gone through a trauma cauching & confronting the home care person abusing my mom that ended up in a life threatening situation. The stress of it all triggered my anorexia to flare up & take over so my periods had stopped anyway.

My mom died soon after from the cancer. I finally got her house cleared out & sold & used that money to escape my own bad marriage.

I ended up moving 2100 miles away to where I didnt know anyone. Weather was hot & humid big difference from the hot DRY Calif desert I had lived in so many years. I would start to sweat & blamed it on the weather not hot flashes though I finally figured it out. They lasted for maybe a year.

I was now living alone, making huge decisions & honestly for the first time away from stressful people my whole life, my brain was finally free from all thst crap it was able to start thinking clearly. Easier to learn....it was like I was catching up for 54 years of my life while also going through menopause. I didnt have much time to focus on me with all that was going on in my life & next thing i knew, no more hot flashes.

I take it you didn't want to take residence in her house? I would have loved to have our house but my mom sold it. Glad stuff worked out for you. I take it by Eskie you mean American Eskimo dogs? If that is so, I have a half eskie half chihuahua. Her name is lily and she is a trip.

Oh half eskie half chihuahua must be adorable. That is quite an interesting combination. Hope the mom wasnt the chihuahua for her sake of giving birth... Yes eskie is for my American eskimo dogs. I used to rsise & show them for a few yesrs...late 90's. They are a trip too. I had 7 when i moved here. Brought my favorites. 9 years later Im down to my last 3. I love them so much but not so much all the white fur lining on everything....but I found a lady who makes the fur into yarn....cleaning up ive found all the bags of fur from grooming....enough to knit a coat.

After going through the trauma in that house even though I grew up there i could hardly go back in it a year later to clear things out. Besides it was in the city I always was wanting to get awsy from. I loved the country from as early as I can remember. I sold it for a good price & bought farm 2100 miles away....needed to get awsy from my bad marriage so it all worked out for the best. Ironic because I saw red flags before the marriagr but my mom encouraged me to go through with it. Was misersble way too long....the irony is that her death & her home made it financially possible to leave

@eskielover: I also used to be very involved with horses.... Actually there isn't any animal that I don't love.....LOL!!!
No..mom was the eskie and it was NOT planned. She looks just like an eskie only in miniature. She is very vocal.
Thanks for this!
