For some reason it takes me a while for significant things to process in my mind and react to them.fo instance when my mom passed away I din't cry at all then years later it hits me and I occasionally burst into tears.
another one that surprises is when I gave a number to a work college who works different department from me that I was interested in.He didn't call/text but gave a lame excuse as to why he didn't and blew me off.It didn't faze me at that time while he was till working the same shifts from mine.He subsequently got a different position and started working opposite shifts from me so we don't see ach other anymore. Now months later,I feel very embarrassed about the whole thing to a point where I don't think I can make eye contact if I were to run into him Is this normal? |

Sometimes people can be numb to change. It takes a while for the shock to wear off.

example...one of my childrens teachers stated at the parent teacher conference that it may be a week later but its very clear when something bothers my children. apparently my child had a problem with how the teacher worded something they stated to my child. A week and a half later during recess my child walked up to the teacher and stated her views on what was said. when the teacher asked her why she didnt come to her when the situation happened my child stated.. "I was taking time to think before speaking, I think more people should do that too, what do you think?" the teacher laughed and told her "I agree" then my child went off to play with her friends. yes sometimes it is normal for people to think / process before reacting. to find out if its normal for you, you will need to contact your own treatment providers who can answer that based on your own directly related problems and such. |
