So I have this problem where I'm talking to people I don't know like at school, my mind starts racing and I don't know how to socialize. I don't know what to say, and will react in a really awkward manner. I basically shut down psychologically and I don't know how to socialize. I have no trouble talking with my parents/grandparents or my best friend who I've known my whole life, but with people I don't know it's hard. Even with some people I do know it's hard if I don't know them well enough or long enough. Could this be a problem related to social anxiety?

It's possible. To be sure though you should see a therapist. I'm not sure if you are in high school or college, but either should have a social worker or school psychologist that you can work with to start.

I also don't do well communicating with people face to face. Although I suppose I might have Social Anxiety too, my diagnosis is actually Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Complex PTSD.

Best of luck to you. I hope you find some answers and help.
