I loved conference, Rap. Glad you were able to go - I was thinking about you. Have you tried freezing instead of canning? (I don't do either. So much for my food storage.)

If you want to see the conference, either paste the whole address, or you can go to www.lds.org and follow the instructions to get to it. Sorry about that link, Sky.

The way it goes with canning seems to be that people will share all the fresh produce in season (when they don't have time to put it up) that you could possibly want, but they don't offer to share what they do get canned. Well, my MIL did once - she cleaned out her storage and gave me all the old stuff that she was afraid to use. It's supposed to be still good, but some of it was older than I am. I passed it along to someone who had pigs.

We got a freezer just recently, but freezer jam isn't much less work, and I don't like it as well. Most of the fruit that I froze in the past never got used. So, it's nice to be able to buy as much frozen food as I want and not worry about being able to fit it in the freezer compartment, but I haven't really gotten into freezing fruit. Most of what I have doesn't freeze all that well.

Maybe I ought to focus on paying my bills, getting my taxes done (almost to the deadline for the second extension), and doing my homework, huh? Those were some of the less fun items on that to-do list.

i needed this thread....thanks for that. a lot of days are "wasted" because of my depression. and, i don't do what i planned on doing, since it all falls apart. "i'm where i'm needed to be at in my life," may not sound rosey to another, but for us, it's a step in where we're going, even though it may be seem like we're at a standstill - kind of like looking at a single photograph in a roll of film of a movie, you know? "it's all life," is true. it makes sense, although i'd like to do more. sometimes, we're unable to do "more" because we're not up to it for the day or because of pain or illness.
