I believe in ghosts, spirits, demons and hauntings. I also believe that they seem to seek me out because there seems to be at least one everywhere i go. i mean everywhere. my boyfriend tells me they follow me, (they mess with him when he sleeps) usually i am able to ignore them but sometimes they are too strong and whenever i am alone they really get to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

I scored 0 on the schizophrenia quiz, is there another illness that could cause me to feel this way?

Why would you assume being gifted with the ability to sense the otherworldly presence of the spirit world? This is a psychic gift and not a mental illness, though I can see why most of the people without this perceptive gift would say otherwise. It's been thought that all young minds are open and perceptive to the spirit world, but gradually shut it off because they believe it to be a product of imagination or insanity due to the adults in their lives saying so. They want to be loved and accepted by their adult peers so they in turn force themselves to believe in what the adult minds do.

I think your beliefs are fine. I believe that the only reason you should be concerned about your beliefs/perceptions is if they start to interfere with your functionability in life.
Thanks for this!

I agree with Laurie. Several decades ago I stayed in a dude ranch near Denver CO. There was a rumor that a young male ghost would haunt the place if someone smoked weed. Seems like weed messed him up. I am not saying, implying grass is bad. Just relating his experience with the herb.

I have had bits and snippets of experiences...the scariest was when I was young and tried a Ouija board. We did not even get the chance to ask a question when I felt a cold chill up both arms and said, 'nope...ain't happening..' I grew up in an old house in which 16 people died and I am currently in a house built in 1918. Had stuff happen in both. Also had a couple in other places. Long stories.

My friend is very sensitive, she can tell the history of a place and she knows things about people's animals that she shouldn't know. She sometimes also feels the presence of an animal before she can see it, which stopped several road accidents.

Is she nutty? Oh yea. She has mood swings, she can be insensitive to others, she can be too easily moved, she can be smart one moment and thick as a brick the next. But she is not psychotic the least. Her mom is psychotic and there is a huge huge difference between those two. It is hard to say what is different, but it is still clear that my friend does not have any psychosis.

Don't be too quick to brand alternative experiences as mental illness. If you are ok with them and they do not effect your ability to function.. hey go with the flow is my vote.
