Well things are starting to look up. I have a job interview as a waitress at Friendly's this week. I also have my other job interview at a Women's Center next week and that is the job that I really want. What should I do? There is no guarantee it will work out and I am pretty sure I can get the waitress job. I need some advice on how to handle this situation.l

If the interview at Friendly's goes well will they want you to start immediately?
Maybe they can set a start date for two weeks or something? Then you can do the other interview and if you get that, call Friendly's back and tell them sorry. I personally hate to do stuff like that but it really isn't an unreasonable thing to do I don't think. I think it is more important in this case to take care of yourself and cover all your bases. Good luck, sounds great! If both interviews go well... it may be stressful but what a good situation to have two jobs to choose from. Plus it sounds like the decision itself won't be very hard because you know what you want to do if the second interview goes well. ------------------------------------ --http://www.idexter.com

Dex,
Yeah that was my problem too. I really felt bad doing that. They will want me to start immediately because I got the job from a site that had desperate job offers. I was thinking I could start soon and if the job works out then I could always quit. Do not know..going to think on it. Jessica <font color=blue> You are in this snowglobe. As a former HR administrator, what I can tell you is that turn over in the waitressing industry is something planned for. So, if you were to get an offer as a waitress before anything else comes along, go ahead and take it!
If the second interview works out and you get that job, well take it too. Then talk to the people at Friendly's and explain to them that you would like to maintain your employment with them but need to adjust your schedule. When they see that your "other job" is such a much better option for you, it will be their call to adjust your schedule to retain you, or to let you go. So, you put the ball at their court and what ever happens they will see you made a good decision when you accepted the "other job" and won't hold it against you. gab
