Hooray! They have finally realised that talking therapy is the way forward and are going to make therapy more available for everyone.

Please read the link.

Sounds good - but where are these extra 3,600 therapists going to come from? More talking therapies in the UK. I thought there was a shortage of them even now, so where are they going to come from in 2 years? More talking therapies in the UK.

There are approx. 44000 members in the BPS, only about 12000 members are actually chartered psychologists so they are going to have to get a move on in training more therapists.

But still it is better than bunging everyone on meds with no therapy at all. I read somewhere that only 2 - 4% of people with depression get talking therapy which is truly awful. Thank goodness they are doing something about it.
