I want to post a special thank you & wanted it to be where all could see, since sometimes the Kudo forum can be overlooked.
I really want to thank Bebop, fuzzybear, EJ711, fayerody, _zh, Perna, sabau2, bipolar_bear, Animal_lover, Cheri, bflatgary, biiv, & 50guy for all your support & encouragement during my trip back to Kentucky. It really helped the trip go much better. It was a great feeling when after a long day's drive, to read the wonderful posts from everyone, giving the encouragement & support you all shared with me. Making the trip alone (of course with Leo), was very quite without having anyone to talk to....so having this group to communicate with was a wonderful thing to look forward to at the end of a long day. Wanted to let you all know how much you all are appreciated, Thank you, Debbie

Lets see, for the party, we have a very green pool to swim in...or course, it's a bit cold outside for that, but then, that will make the water feel warmer....lol.
The floors are covered with plastic so that the when they worked on the windows, all the mess wouldn't ruin the new carpet.....some of it missed a bit. The wooden entryway & staire are still covered with red paper & nonor te painting is finished there either.....what an entry that makes to the house I was planning on getting a new vacume when I got here, but the store here doesn't carry the one I was planning on buying.....going to have to figure out another option. There is dust & dirt all over the place......just like the new homes I have bought in the past. Guess I just couldn't be happy moving into an older house that was ready to move into without personalizing it????? I just went to the store today & got some food to eat....so we do have that. I had a few frozen things left from when I was here before, so wasn't starving yet. I'll have to buy some popcorn & ice cream.....but I'm ready for a good party.....can clean up later.....the mess isn't going to go anywhere, so come on over. I found my bouncing pumpkin welcome stake to set outside my front door so you can find my house. Thanks you all again, Debbie

You can have a cleanup party! What vacuum did you want? Maybe someone owns one and can bring it.

Trying this one more time....maybe it was just too many words & my wireless internet lost something it the transmission????
I started my day out today, searching walmart.com to find the vacume i wanted & then found the closest store that had it is stock.....the closest store was over 1 1/2 hours away. How strange since every small town has a walmart & the larger towns have at least 2 or 3. I decided to have a late breakfast before leaving & as I was standing in the kitchen, there was a doe standing in my backyard, munching on a few green pieces of grass that are left (the draught is very bad). This is the first deer I have seen in my yard & so close to my house.....I was so excited, I ran all over the house trying to find my camera....finally located it & stood in my upstairs window watching her & taking some photos. Leo peeked over the window & started growling at her....he has never seen a deer before & had no idea what she was....he wouldn't stop growling....how funny. She hung around for about 45 minutes before strolling back into my woods. How exciting....she was so pretty....looking forward to more I'm sure....she will bring others now she knows there is grass. After that, I took off for the store. I have been very stuck without a vacume, so it was a must. The city I was aiming for is directly across from where I live....as the crow flys, it would only be about 1/2 your drive....but there is no straight (or even close to being straight )road. The GPS was taking me North & then down, so I went with it. The first 15 mile road I take leaving my house is beautiful. Winding through the woods & canyon, across the Kentucky river just like the country drives in the mountains at home. When I got to the highway, I decided to change the GPS to the most direct route. Just as it recalculated, I was at the street to turn on....had to make a quick lane change,& was off across the country & smaller highways. As I continued, the signs said there was no bridge across the KY river on this road. I thought I would be turning before that anyway, so kept going. Well, I came to the end & there was a ferry to cross the river. I wasn't ready for that at all. That was so awsome.....3 cars at a time. Only 100ft. I was nervous though....my truck was the last one on. I put it in park & made sure the break was on.....I had visions of my truck rolling over the back of the ferry & into the river. It was so exciting however.....some new experience every day. I wish I had brought my camera...."never leave home without it". So I used my cell phone camera to take some photos of the crossing. The country around there is beautiful...a bit more green than where I live (guess they have had a bit more rain). On to the store & picked up the vacume....then I made sure I took the same route back so I could make the return trip over the ferry. That was a very unexpected experience. I felt like a little kid, chatting with the man that helps run the ferry. He must have thought I was a crazy, but that's ok....sometimes, it's feel great to let yourself feel excited about the little things & enjoy all the experiences possible. I do love the things I encounter each new day......It will never get old. I love exploring new places & see new things, so I guess I came to the right place. Debbie

Biiv,
It's difficult to keep up with the posts even when one isn't incredibly busy.....almost impossible with the schedule it sounds like you are keeping. Please take care of yourself...don't get too run down & end up getting sick. Your dream was so sweet to include me in your holiday gathering. Take care of yourself 50guy, Thank you for your support as a sounding board & friend....that's really appreciated. An update on the vacuum....I had no idea how dirty the house had gotten over the time they were working on the windows. I had the professionally cleaned just before Ieft....bit mistake. When I vacuumed the family room, I went over if at least 5 times, dumping the bagless container each time....It came up with at least a handfull of dirt every time. That's a great vacuum & a real dirty carpet. The rest of the house is all new carpet, so there is a lot less dirt in the rest of the carpets....not deep in the carpet there. Finished up the painting in the bonus room, so now all I have to do is pick up the plastic drop cloth, vacuum that & it's ready to move all the boxes into that room. Slowly things are coming together & then other things pop up to be done...something I wasn't even planning, but my neighbor was finising our shared driveway to the house he's building....he paid for the grading...I the rocking it in. While doing that, I had decided that my main driveway needed to be widened (too narrow for my new truck) so had them bring a load of rock for that while they were there. That added another job to my list...having to spread around the gravel a bit to fill is all in from where it was. There is always another unexpected task that showes up. While my neighbor was helping me flag where I wanted the rock poured, he helped me flag where I want the fencing done....he is having a company put in the fence for his farm & said they most likely be able to put my fence in at the same time.....wooohoooo...fenced in pasture for the horses at least & hopefully my whole farm. It breaks up the park look, but is much more functional. Also purchased a weeping willow tree for the front yard...taking out the little elm tree they planted & replacing it with the willow. They are such beautiful graceful trees....always wanted to have one in my yard only never had enough room. Thank you all for your continued support & kindness, Debbie

hey there. came home 'early' today. left just before six pm. had to leave the office today to splash cold water on my face and drink some iced water just to stay awake. have no idea why this is taking so much out of me. am still enjoying it but cant wait for the weekend to just sleep!
sounds like things are coming together at the house again and you re falling back into that routine of having good things just show up. ![]() i love willows too. we had a weeping willow in the garden of the house i grew up in and it was by far my favourite tree. felt like a nice hideaway under its branches. ![]() ![]() |
