If a professional repeatedly insists that you are incorrect about an illness that you are certain that you experience every day of your life and have experienced for many years and maybe even since you were a very young child but, offers no information on what else the condition could be, is that psychological abuse?
This is not intendid as a passive aggesive attack.
This is a legitament question by a concerned and once again confused mental health patient.
It would be the same thing if a Christian preacher or missionary said that being a Christian and being afraid makes no sense because the Lord doesn't give the spirit of fear so, that fear is coming from somewhere else but, gives no information on where exactly that fear could be coming from and just leaves the sufferer wondering what is going on.
This also has happened to one when one was a Christian.
This sort of thing can be very confusing and bring about feelings of hopelessness and isolation.
So one asks again. Is this psychological abuse?

I don't think it's abuse. Either they are incorrect or you are. Can you get a second opinion?

I also vote for a second or even 3rd opinion.

I don't know. I guess I'll just have to wait until I see my pdoc again which is a month away. Sigh...

No, I see not even a hint of abuse here.

If it were me, I would tend to determine why the mental healthcare provider is leaning towards a certain diagnosis. Afterall, they are the professional and I am not. The fact they are repeatedly insisting this is so only lends more weight to their opinion. i think one of the worse things we can do is self-diagnose. Remember, what we read on the internet is not always correct and one tends to heed only that which they are already inclined to believe or wish to find something conclusive for their existing thinking. It is too easy then to read into something that which we want to believe. No, you are better to seek the guidance from a learned professional.

Now, if you are so certain this is incorrect it would be the time to seek second counsel.

"Professionals" aren't always correct, and that goes for any type of professional. They are capable of being wrong or making mistakes just as any human is.

What testing have they done that backs up their opinion that makes them certsin they are right? Maybe you should get a copy of the documentation they are using to base their opinion to that yiu will understand them better & not just be contradicting them because it is how you have felt all your life. If researching their basis still leaves you wondering not just because you have your mind made up but because there are actual facts that cause doubt then by all means.....GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!

Thank you for all the responses. Everything is much better now. I've got the Nanites on it. Repairs are running smoothly.
