so ive been very sick of my hair for a long time [a little past chin length, 1 length, side bangs]. so i decided to cut it, i just got frustrated. i always cut my own hair. so i did, and it looks really really good. for once i actually like something about my appearance. i send a few pictures to my best friend and she says "its not that its not super cute on u cause it is...but my hair is my identity. it makes me very...unconfortable that yours looks so similar". and then "it looks good but it kind of feels...weird." our hair looks nothing alike. i cant believe it. i was so excited about it and now i feel like i should just not even wear it like that. i feel like i should just put it in a pony tail til it grows out. my hair my hair my hair my hair my hair i feel so betrayed and embarrassed. ugh. so much for my hair. [theres a picture of it in the attachment]

I think it looks really great!

Don't let your friend get your down. She might just be envious that you did it on your own and didn't spend a bunch of cash. my hair

Don't worry about what your friend says....if you are really really happy with the way it looks, that's the most important thing. I always hated going to the beauty shop & coming out hating what it looked like, so when if my hair ended up looking great, I would be so happy I wouldn't worry about someone else telling you that you look like their hair cut. That just happens sometimes.

I remember looking at photos before getting my hair cut & hoping that it would turn out close to what I liked in a photo.

She will get over it,
Debbie

Maybe this is a good time to stop revolving your life around hers. Time to do what you like for yourself & be yourself. Sometimes it just takes some little thing to help us realize that we are an individual person on our own & not have our lives controlled by someone else.

She might be a good friend, but a relationship that revolves around someone that much might need to be looked at???

I know things like that are difficult at a young age & building up confidence in your own self is a process of maturing......just little steps we take as we get older & there's nothing wrong with a bit if healthy independence.

You will be ok & so will she,
Debbie

You like the way your hair looks. Like it and have fun and be excited about it!

Your friend has different thoughts...about hair and about a lot of things. Her feelings.. are about her and are for her to deal with.

Sounds as if she's just in the process of adjusting to it, not that she doesn't like it.. it just feels 'weird' to her right now because it's new, but soon it will be familiar to her so it won't feel weird to her. Everything will be okay.

Enjoy your new hairstyle! my hair
