I curl up on the couch with the computer in front of me, tuned to PC. Just because I can see the forum, I feel better. I feel like if I need it, I could just sit up and type, like right now.

Sort of like cuddling a virtual Pc Teddy Bear close.

I've also sometimes slept on the couch on very bad nights just so I am close to all of you.

Is this weird?

That is interesting that you have posted this. Hard for me to admit, but I too, especially when feeling frightened or overwhelmed, will click on Psych Central. Guess it is sort of a "safety net" or something. Just "at times" seeing the forum can be calming for me. I don't know why. It just does..

Tomorrow I will be embarrassed that I admitted this..

At the time I went thru my worse period of depression/anxiety I didn't know about PC but I do know about the couch. For me sleeping on the couch was like my own little safety area. I think it was the comfort of being confined in a safety space. When I was there I forgot about how big the world really was.

Yes, it is very weird :-) and sweet. When I go out I often leave the computer on/"tuned" to PC. It's nice to come home and find I'm still logged in, kind of like leaving music on in the background in the morning going to work and you come in after a long day and something nice is playing.

I don't think it is wierd at all. PC is a place that you find support and understanding. And we are all here for you. I will be your PC teddy bear anytime. I am glad that you find comfort from here.

Where else could we go at any time, day or night that can give so much love and support? It's not always possible at 3am to call a good friend or relative or wake someone in the house when we are in need of safety. So, PC is the perfect place to find the solace that is needed to calm and feel the warmth!

And, BB's teddy hugs are just the bestest!!! Sometimes When I Feel Vulnerable Or Frightened

I have my computer on this site so much the PsychCentral logo is probably burnt into my computer screen. It makes me feel good to be in touch with others. It is good to know there is almost always somebody here for me.

Nah, not weird. It's a good place to be, at any time. Just being around here can make me feel better. Sometimes When I Feel Vulnerable Or Frightened
