My baby called this morning and asked that his dad and I come over to visit. For those of you that know, one of my DsIL and I just got over a really rough patch. And for those of you that also know, I'm "a force to be recond with" when I'm on the warpath. Well, this very special DIL rose to the occasion and met me head on! SHE was the one that would not give up until things were resolved. SHE was the one that kept reading and rereading my emails until she understood what I meant. IMO, SHE was the one that made the biggest changes and SHE is the one that loves my son so much that she kept going even when she was ready to give up! Having a new respect for her swells my heart to bursting!!

I am so PROUD to call her DAUGHTER!!!


I am not taking any of the credit in this. It all goes to HER. That woman gave it her all so that we could overcome the obstacles that are thrown in our life path! I am proud of the both of us but I'm more proud of her... 100 fold!

What an awesome thing to happen! I bet this may be one of your best holiday seasons ever, congratulatons!

I am so happy for you & your whole family......what a joyous Christmas this is......the best Christmas present ever is for family to come close together & get through the horrible times of misunderstanding.

How awsome that she worked so hard at understanding what was being said to her. That means she really wanted to be a part o the family & not just give up because it would take some work to iron out the bumps in the road......she sounds like a pretty awsome lady.

It's wonderful that you have had the patience to let her come to her understanding on her own time frame....sometimes that's a tough one to handle....we get impatient, angry, & just blow it off by cutting all ties.

Great on both your parts to work out this family relationship.....I am so happy. It's wonderful to hear good news like this.....warms my heart & makes me feel good knowing there is good happening in the world.

If I am still in California at Christmas.....I appreciate the invitation & would gladly accept.

I am working hard at getting the Dr appointment set up so my initial plan to be in KY for Christmas can work out. Stupidly, I have a plane ticket for my daughter to go there.....but if I can't get the appointment to get my meds in Kentucky (they said they won't fill my California prescriptions any more)....no point in spending 8 days driving or the cost of a plane ticket for myself just to have to come back to California by Jan 1.

I have to admit also that I am having stress thoughts even thinking about driving that far again so soon. I had a horrible time driving from NM to CA that last day....cruise control helped, but I was having a horrible time not thinking about being in bed under the covers & not coming out until feel better. The stress has been so bad, I almost passed out standing waiting for the elevator at the building the therapist is in today. I had to sit down on the floor for a few minutes to avoid landing hard on the floor from passing out. Luckily I got myself into her office.....but that was a scarry feeling.....my body reacts strangely to stress, so driving when I have panic attacks is dangerous.

Thank you so much for the invitation....that is so very kind of you.....it sure would be a joyous Christmas day to enjoy the happiness there & your grand-children.....Max is definitely a pleasure to be around.....he is so adorable & has such an interesting mind that goes 100mph +.

I understand completely what stress and panic attacks do to us, Deb. Please don't feel pressured.

Max won't be in town for Christmas, but I do plan to see that family a few days before. Both of those boys are truly amazing! But then, who of my grandkids isn't? Sorry... proud grandma talkin' here.

Great photo.....photos always catch someone eating.....lol. I can imagine that you will continue to keep Maxs' words of wisdom on the refrig for years to come so you can keep the smile on your face everytime you read them.

You definitely have a wonderful family to be a proud grandma with your awsome grandchildren....think it's wonderful when a family is that close & love surrounds it.

I'm soooooo happy things worked out for you. That's great!

I've been blessed with two great d-i-ls. My oldest joined our family 20 yrs ago in May. The newest joined our family this last June.

We have all heard the "mother-in-law" jokes so I feel twice blessed. Both are the greatest.

I plan to someday soon put all their handmade birthday, Mother's Day wishes, etc. in simple inexpensive frames and cover my bedroom walls with them.
