What does a therapist mean when he says "you are fairly dissociative"?

May peace be with you in your journey

Welcome! I agree with Ozzie that you should discuss this more with your T... but it sounds like a soft way to say there are times that you just aren't clear about what you have done or said or ...being all the time?

It's a subject that is being discussed quite a bit on the site lately... join right in.

hello grace and welcome to the forums here.

This is a great place to discuss questions like the one you posted, and get other people's opinions as to what it may mean, and help you explore it in terms of what it means for you.

But you should never be afraid to ask your T what he means by something, especially when he throws out a technical term like that one. A lot of times it catches us off guard but it might make a good topic for you to bring up at your next session.

You'll find a lot of support and understanding here and I hope you like being a member of this community.

(Notice that I posted 4 paragraphs and I didn't even answer your question question -- that's me, someday they are going to boot me out of here question)

Hi, 2Grace2,

I don't know the answer either. I would agree with the others to discuss it in more detail with your T for what they were refering to as in your personal case.

Welcome, and Hope you continue to Post here and to say Hi, and that I am glad that you made it here. question
