Thank you very much!

Friday is THE big day, with just so much hanging on this surgery for her quality of life as a person, wife and mother, but also for all our lives. We've ALL had to manage this illness.

Please continue to pray. Just last night I began to come down with strep. This virus that's carried infection to ears, throat or both has now gone through son-in-law, daughter and baby. I now have strep from it and pray that David doesn't get it.

I've started on Keflex tonight so I pray that it will begin to work quickly so that I can be what I need to be. I have alot to do before the big day too. I need for everyone to know Fever is maintaining for the most part, between 100 and 101.

If I don't feel alot better tomorrow night or have some indication that the antibiotics are working, I'm going to go to urgent care for a shot. My family dr. told me years ago that the strep I get is very resistant to antibiotics and that I should *always* get a shot of rocephin right off the bat.

I hope I caught this early enough. I had no choice but to address it. The pain is already horrible in throat, neck and ears. I do NOT want this strep to "settle" anywhere. I've had that happen before and it takes so much longer to feel better.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers and I'll keep you updated.

I thank you so much.

KD

Thinking of you all . Hoping You get better, Make sure you rest as much as possible. Other things will fall into place. By pushing yourself before this surgery will only set your healing back. Believe me I know this. I hope daughter gets thru surgery ok, and heals up well. And everyone will pull together and help as much as possible. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you all the hugs I can muster up !!

Hugz

Thank you so so much (((((((((((( everyone ))))))))))))))

Tomorrow is the big day. I feel some better, but still have alot of pain in my throat/neck. Fever is gone and weakness and headaches are much better.

I keep the baby tonight and we'll meet daughter and son-in-law at the hospital an hour before the surgery. It should take only 90 mins or so unless there's a complication of some kind.

She'll stay in the hosp at least tomorrow night and maybe Saturday night...it depends on calcium and bleeding.

I'll get my little bugaboo at 7, and David goes to mama and daddy's after school today for 3 days. My mother is going to help with David while he's away from me.

Anyhow, tomorrow is THE day. Please continue the thoughts and prayers for the dr's and my daughter. Also, please send me positive thoughts or send out prayers for my strength in caring for my bugaboo 24/7 for the next while.

Love and thanks,

KD

Thank you!!!

It's OVER.

She did very well. It took longer and she has a larger incision than first suggested, but it was necessary too. It was a bit complicated as they reckoned, but a larger incision and longer procedure doesn't compare to the ZERO complications so far! He was very careful and her voice, though gravelly, is in tact (it will be changed a bit but that's OK), there was no nerve damage to know of so far, and so far no signs that her parathyroid glands were damaged (that could still show yet and they're watching).

The surgeon said there didn't seem to be anything in there to show concerns of anything else (i.e. cancer). They will biopsy just because it's procedure.

She's in alot of pain even with the morphine but it seemed to be calming some when I was leaving. She's still in and out of the anesthesia and I think her pain will be alot better once she's slept some and some time passes. I need for everyone to know

I had the baby with me all day and he never cried once!!!! He was the show of the hospital today...everyone and their brother stopped to talk to him and he just showed his cute baby self. LOL.

I can't thank you enough for the prayers and positive energies sent. I was never once fearful or frightened and things couldn't have gone better!

I so appreciate the care shown and thank you for it!!!!

KD

Thank you!

I don't think her recovery is going to be as bad as I thought it would be. I talked with her tonight and she sounds really good. Of course, she'll need help for the first week or two because she's limited by the doctor, but I think she'll be able to do more than I thought she would be.

It was so precious, she was in the bed still in and out of the anesthesia and could focus on nothing but holding her boy. I got him to sleep and laid him on her, and though she couldn't stay awake herself she kept patting him through nodding off. Of course, I had to stay right there to keep him and her both safe, and to keep him from grabbing hold of her IV tube or the drainage tube in her neck.

She's such a good mommy and now she'll be able to be the mommy she's not been able to be and feared she'd never be...take him to park, tickle and run and play, etc. Her biggest fear was that she would never be able to do any of those things as he started getting older. Now she can. I need for everyone to know

She's thrilled it's over and excited about moving forward more healthily. I need for everyone to know She has ALOT of hope for the first time in a year. I need for everyone to know

I'm starting to have some too. I need for everyone to know

KD
