Today I realised just how calm and happy birds make me, not touching them per say, but even just watching them. I was thinking maybe I'll get a pair of Zebra Finches (because I've heard that they are easy to care for, and I have no expirience with pet birds) of course, I probably wont get finches until I move out- because my dad only really likes dogs as pets- and my mom has cats (and and and 1 & 1/2 of them are psycotic anyways Thinking about getting a pet bird )

the only thing I'm worried about is cleaning out the cage...not that I mind the smell or anything, but the little birds seem really fragile to hold, and I'm afraid that they'd fly away (until I learned that they can have their wings clipped)

Birds have always been special to me, I remember as a child, in latchkey, one of the supervisor people there had alot of encyclopedias about birds. I didn't like to read them, but I thought the pictures of the birds were beautiful. I remember to, a time when every day before school, we would see dead baby birds on the ground, and we would make a grave for them- tombstone, flowers, and everything. And once, there were baby birds on the ground too, but they were alive! They would follow us whenever we came near, cheeping their little hearts out and looking for food, I was really sad though because we didn't have anything we could feed them. Birds have always been an inspiration for me.

I love birds, I've had a few quakers...but consider how loud they can be. It's not so calming when they're chirping up a storm at 2 am. Other wise they are beautiful animals and you can teach them to say just about anything.

I'm listening to my Quaker squawk right now, lol.

I have three parrots and I'm pretty knowledgeable about many types of parrots, including care, diet, handling, etc.

I would be happy to help you in any way. PM me if you'd like.

Birds need a lot of attention. They are a lot of work. They are also my therapy at home. They are my babies, they make me laugh like crazy. I couldn't imagine my life without them.

I love birds, as long as they are someone else's. The mess they make rivals their beauty and songs. I don't know why I feel that way, but when I go to parents house and sit out back adn listen to the mocking birds. They are neat when they mimic the door bells and phone ringer tones and car horns!!! Some ppl around thhere wanted to shoot them, and I think that is just wrong!!! I dunno where I am going with this...just rambling again, I guess. Sorry. Melanie
