Got phone line problems

LOL Seems the flu Pegs gave me also had strain of comic relief in it! I've been so silly lately!! It's been a whole lot of fun! No kidding, when you smile, the whole world smiles with you. Well... almost!

Hello! Well, I spoke to a really nice man this morning who was so caring and understanding, a phone engineer is coming out on Tuesday and they are going to see what they can do!

I cannot understand strong accents either. Plus, my earthlink IP is routed through India, and I have to just tell them point blank: I know you THINK you are speaking English, but you aren't making any sense, or, you aren't really communicating because you are just reading responses off a card!

I don't hate them for this, there's no love lost but I don't hate for this. It's very frustrating. If Earthlink doesn't want the negative comments in their surveys, they need to find ppl who truly understand the English language. (Ok, Brits, no funny stuff ) Rant over.

Pegasus, that's miserable to rely upon services that just aren't! I know here in the USA if someone had that issue, they could ask one of us who have unlimited long distance to call for them. I hope we can build our "clientele" in Europe so some day you guys could do that too!

Oh, Sky!! Don't get me going on my experiences while speaking to people outside the country!! I wonder if the only English they know is what's written on their response cards!

I went through something like that while buying my digital cam through Overstock.com. The person on the other end kept reading the same advertisement that was already on the web page where I found the camera! gggrrrr! I liked the camera and what the ad said, so the only thing I made darn sure of was that I could return it if I didn't like it. I could, so I got it. So far, so good, but it wasn't because my questions were answered.

Ok... MY rant is over.

Yeah, I'm more hopeful than I was, trouble is, the phone line is fine now! Which means if the phone engineer can't find the fault on the line then he won't be able to fix it. So then I'll still be worrying whether it'll cut out when the wind blows a hoolie. And then I will have to do battle again to get them to sort it out yet again.

The really nice guy I spoke to earlier was very apologetic and helpful! Shame not all of the phone company's employees are like that.

Septy! Funny enough the phone man I spoke to earlier laughed when I said about the wind blowing a hoolie! To me it's gale force winds but I thought I'd do some research for you. Apparently a 'hoolie!' or 'hooley.' is a rip-roaring party!.... Ha ha ha, that did make me laugh!

The phone engineer came out this morning, cutting a long story short..... I now have a super-duper clear phone line!

All these years, I didn't realise what a fuzzy line we had, now it's fantastic! Hooray!

Oh call centres!! My friends dad when he gets sales calls from "far away" he keeps them holding on and turns the whole pitch around and starts asking them how much they earn to make these calls LOL! In the end they hang up LOL!
