If you are struggling with meds, get a Genesight test now!!

I have struggled for decades with one medication after another only to have it quit working if it ever really worked at all.
I recently did a test for genetic markers that can help determine what drugs work best for me. It's called the Genesight test.


At the American Psychiatric Association annual meeting researchers said people using the test are 50% more likely to achieve remission after 8 weeks and 30% more likely to to respond to the drugs recommended compared to people treated without the test.

There are 22 Antidepressants on my report. Only three are listed as candidates so I switched to one of them. I no longer need ketamine infusions for my depression and yesterday for the first time I walked in to a store and only walked out with what I came for instead of over-spending by $100. I'm not kidding. I've done it many many times. I was that manic. For years!!

Thanks for posting this. I've already provided a link to it to a new member who wrote they've been struggling for years without success. Hopefully a Genesight test is something that can be of benefit to them (and many others as well.)

I've struggled with many medications, too. All the SSRI's, MAO's, Mood Stabilizers, AP's. I had genetic testing and the Dr said I was missing a crucial receptor or something. I gave the test results to a Dr. when I was inpatient and she said she really couldn't use it because the test is not accepted by a certain psychiatric group or organization.

Some psychiatrists refuse to authorize or look at those tests. I had one like that, so I had to switch to a different psychiatrist who would look at it.

The test confirmed what I had already learned the hard way: that SNRIs work better for me than SSRIs. I wish that test had been around in the 90s when I first started taking meds. Would have saved me a lot of painful side effects.

Sounds like arrogance to me. How dare a test be better than she is. Just my two cents.
