Hio!

Well, I have to go for physical therapy today for my first time. I am a bit nervous and I am really scared because my step dad told me it will hurt but I am not sure if he was being sarcastic. I am scared though because I was thinking about it today, and I am going for my neck and spine... I dont know if this is stupid to ask but will I be able to keep my shirt on?? I really freak out when I have to take my shirt off, I went to the doctor and i seriously cried when I had to so she could ultrasound my heart. What do you guys think?

Court if its just exercises they are going to be doing then yeah your gonna be able to keep your shirt on. But if they do any kind of massage or anything like that then you might have to slip it off. You can ask for women PT's too if that helps you to feel more comfortable. There is nothing wrong with letting them know what helps you to feel more comfy .. its their job. Take care and I hope things go well.

I agree Court_Knee. In order to massage or manipulate a muscle ot joint, it will be required. Perhaps they would okay it with a tank top or undershirt. It might lessen the effects of the therapy. It would be helpful if you notify them ahead of time that you have this discomfort.

It's up to the therapist as to whether they will need you in a gown or not... but ask the girls around the office (receptionists, etc) or just tell the PT that you want to stay dressed. DO wear stretchable fabric, not thick, so they can work through it if possible.

Sometimes when the trigger point is really requiring deep massage, they can use their elbows and wouldn't need bare skin for that..
